The Manager – Packaging and Labeling Automation Engineering will be responsible for leading the design, execution, validation, and continuous optimization of automated packaging and labeling systems across one or multiple facilities. The role includes strategic oversight of projects, team development, vendor management, and ensuring compliance with global regulatory standards such as GMP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and serialization mandates. This leadership position drives performance excellence, innovation, and digital transformation in packaging automation.
Lead and manage all packaging automation projects: new installations, upgrades, and retrofits.
Develop and execute the automation strategy aligned with organizational goals for cost, quality, and regulatory compliance.
Oversee cross-functional project teams, including automation engineers, technicians, validation, QA, and production stakeholders.
Drive performance improvements in OEE, throughput, and product traceability.
Ensure full compliance with GMP, 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and Track & Trace requirements.
Manage vendor relationships, RFPs, CAPEX budgets, and project timelines for equipment and automation software systems.
Conduct technical reviews, risk assessments, FAT/SAT, and change controls for packaging automation.
Provide subject matter expertise during internal and external audits (regulatory, client, or corporate).
Develop and mentor technical staff and foster a culture of safety, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Ensure scalable integration of:
PLC/SCADA/HMI platforms
Data acquisition systems and MES connectivity
Vision inspection and real-time rejection mechanisms
Compliance, Validation & Risk Management
Lead compliance for:
FDA, EU GMP, and GAMP 5 validation standards
Documentation: URS, FDS, SDS, FAT/SAT, IQ/OQ/PQ
Audit preparedness and deviation/CAPA management
Project & Vendor Management
Accountable for:
CAPEX planning and ROI analysis
Vendor evaluation and contract negotiation
Project execution within scope, time, and cost constraints

Education:
B.E. / B.Tech / M.Tech in Automation, Mechatronics, Instrumentation, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering
MBA or PMP certification (preferred but not mandatory)
Experience:
10+ years of experience in packaging automation, including 5+ years in a leadership/managerial role
Proven success in regulated industries: pharmaceuticals, FMCG, food & beverage, cosmetics
Technical Expertise:
Deep understanding of control systems, PLCs, SCADA, serialization, machine vision, and network protocols
Ability to interpret automation architecture, equipment schematics, and system documentation
