This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates with an interest in industrial automation and packaging systems. The Packaging and Labeling Automation Engineer – Fresher will assist in the setup, testing, and troubleshooting of automated packaging machines, labeling systems, and basic control panels. Training will be provided on machinery standards, safety practices, and regulatory expectations within regulated sectors such as pharmaceuticals, FMCG, or food processing.
Assist in installation, setup, and commissioning of automated packaging and labeling machinery under supervision.
Learn to perform basic diagnostics and adjustments on mechanical and electrical components.
Support maintenance and service teams in conducting routine line checks, changeovers, and sensor calibration.
Understand and assist with the operation of label printers, vision inspection systems, and track-and-trace technologies.
Record data during trials and report findings to engineering and validation teams.
Participate in training programs related to safety, automation standards, and industry practices.
Adhere to cGMP, safety, and quality protocols when working in regulated environments.
Packaging & Labeling Equipment Familiarity
Exposure to:
Blister packing, bottle filling, capping, shrink wrapping, carton packing
Label applicators, serialization/aggregation systems
Vision systems (OCR/OCV, barcode readers, rejection units)
Automation Fundamentals
Basic understanding of:
PLC controls (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, etc.)
Sensors, actuators, VFDs, HMIs
Wiring layouts, I/O checks, emergency stops, and interlocks
Line Support & Troubleshooting
Assist in:
Clearing minor jams and label feed issues
Changing label rolls and setting label positions
Monitoring production line efficiency
Compliance & Documentation Awareness
Understand basics of:
GMP, GDP, and validation protocols
Label audit trails, calibration logs, and maintenance checklists

On-the-job training with senior engineers

Education:
Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Mechatronics, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Automation
Experience:
0–1 year (fresher)
Any internship/apprenticeship in packaging, automation, or production is an advantage
Technical Skills:
Good analytical thinking, basic troubleshooting mindset
Familiarity with CAD drawings or control panel layouts is a plus
Soft Skills:
Willingness to learn, strong work ethic, good team collaboration
Ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records
