The Junior Packaging Line Supervisor – Mechanical Systems assists in overseeing the daily operation, maintenance, and minor troubleshooting of mechanical equipment on packaging lines within a food or beverage manufacturing facility. Reporting to senior supervisors or engineers, this role supports ensuring packaging machinery runs efficiently, safely, and meets production and quality requirements.
Support the supervision of mechanical packaging equipment including fillers, labelers, sealers, conveyors, and case packers.
Assist in monitoring equipment performance and coordinating routine preventive maintenance activities.
Help troubleshoot minor mechanical issues to minimize downtime and maintain line productivity.
Ensure compliance with food safety and plant safety standards during packaging operations.
Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to escalate and resolve mechanical breakdowns or faults.
Maintain accurate records of equipment issues, maintenance activities, and operational logs.
Support training efforts for operators on mechanical system basics and safe work practices.
Participate in shift meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols strictly.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Technical training or certification in mechanical maintenance or packaging technology is a plus.
Experience:
0–2 years in manufacturing, preferably with exposure to packaging machinery or mechanical equipment.
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems and preventive maintenance principles preferred.
Technical Skills:
Familiarity with packaging line equipment such as fillers, labelers, conveyors, and sealers.
Basic mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills.
Comfortable using hand and power tools safely.
Ability to read simple mechanical drawings or manuals.
