Job Description: Outside Sales Representative

Job Summary:


We are seeking a results-driven and experienced Senior Outside Sales Representative to lead our external sales initiatives. In this role, you will be responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and driving revenue growth through strategic sales tactics. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in outside sales, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Business Development:
    • Identify, target, and secure new sales opportunities within assigned territories.
    • Develop strategic plans to approach prospective clients and expand market presence.
  • Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key decision-makers and stakeholders.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Sales Strategy & Execution:
    • Develop and execute tailored sales strategies that align with company goals and market demands.
    • Conduct product presentations, demos, and negotiations to close deals.
  • Market Analysis & Reporting:
    • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to inform strategic adjustments.
    • Prepare detailed sales reports and forecasts to track performance and guide future initiatives.
  • Team Collaboration & Mentoring:
    • Work closely with internal teams including marketing, product development, and customer support to optimize the sales process.
    • Mentor junior sales representatives and share best practices to drive overall team success.
  • Contract Negotiation & Closing:
    • Negotiate terms and contracts with prospective clients to secure favorable outcomes while ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Maintain a robust sales pipeline and achieve or exceed revenue targets.

    • Drive significant revenue increases through proactive lead generation and strategic account management.
  • Customer Acquisition & Retention:
    • Focus on both attracting new clients and nurturing existing relationships to enhance long-term business value.

    • Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies that adapt to evolving market conditions.
  • Performance & Accountability:
    • Consistently meet or exceed sales targets through effective planning, execution, and performance monitoring.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of proven experience in outside or field sales, with a strong record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • In-depth understanding of market dynamics and the ability to strategize effectively within a competitive environment.
  • Experience in contract negotiations, customer acquisition, and relationship management.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and sales analytics tools to manage sales pipelines and performance metrics.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required.
