Job Title: Senior - Network Optimization

Job Summary

The Senior Network Optimization professional leads optimization projects and is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s network operates at peak performance. This role requires advanced technical knowledge, strategic planning, and leadership skills to guide network optimization efforts across multiple systems and departments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network engineering and a proven track record of successfully implementing optimization strategies that enhance network efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead network optimization projects, including capacity planning, network redesigns, and performance tuning.
• Perform advanced troubleshooting and optimization of high-priority network performance issues.
• Analyze network traffic, bandwidth, and latency to identify areas for improvement.
• Implement advanced Quality of Service (QoS) and traffic management strategies to improve network performance.
• Mentor and guide junior and mid-level engineers in optimization techniques and troubleshooting practices.
• Develop and enforce best practices for network optimization, monitoring, and reporting.
• Work with cross-functional teams to plan and implement network expansions and upgrades.
• Stay updated with the latest technologies and methodologies in network optimization.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Deep understanding of network protocols (IP, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and optimization techniques (QoS, MPLS).
• Expertise in network performance monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow, SNMP).
• Advanced troubleshooting skills, with a focus on diagnosing and resolving network bottlenecks and performance issues.
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide teams and foster professional growth.
• Ability to design and implement complex network optimizations and improvements.
• In-depth knowledge of network security and the ability to integrate optimization strategies with security protocols.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field.
• Advanced certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly recommended.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in network administration and optimization.
• Experience with large-scale network environments and complex optimization projects.

Tools and Equipment

• Advanced network monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, NetFlow).
• Traffic management and diagnostic equipment.
• Routing and switching devices (Cisco, Juniper, etc.).

Other Requirements

• Availability for occasional travel for on-site troubleshooting or project work.
• Strong communication skills for liaising with upper management and technical teams.
• Ability to manage multiple optimization projects and tasks simultaneously.
