Job Summary

The Director/VP of Network Optimization is a pivotal leadership position within our organization, tasked with the development and execution of a comprehensive strategic vision for network optimization. This role is essential in ensuring that our network infrastructure not only meets the evolving business needs but also operates at peak efficiency. Key Responsibilities

• Define and implement the network optimization strategy for the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals.
• Oversee the design, optimization, and scalability of global network infrastructure to support business operations.
• Lead the implementation of advanced network optimization techniques, including traffic shaping, load balancing, and capacity management.
• Manage and mentor senior technical teams, fostering an environment of innovation and professional growth.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure that network infrastructure meets operational requirements and supports organizational objectives.
• Review and approve budgets for network optimization projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions are implemented.
• Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies to maintain a competitive edge in network performance and optimization.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including clients, vendors, and regulatory bodies, regarding network performance and optimization strategies.
• Lead crisis management efforts for network failures or performance degradation, ensuring rapid and effective resolutions.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Expert-level knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS), performance optimization, and Quality of Service (QoS).
• Deep understanding of network traffic management, load balancing, and scaling strategies.
• Advanced leadership and management skills, with the ability to lead large, diverse teams effectively.
• Strong financial acumen, with experience in managing network optimization budgets.
• In-depth experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to engage with C-level executives and external stakeholders on network-related matters.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Network Engineering, Telecommunications, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Executive certifications such as PMP, ITIL, or MBA are beneficial.
• Advanced network certifications such as CCIE, JNCIE, or equivalent are preferred.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in network optimization, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

• Traffic management software and network monitoring systems.
• Enterprise-scale routers, switches, and load balancing devices.
