Job Summary
The Supervisor Network Administrator plays a pivotal role in managing and leading a team of network administrators to ensure the stability, security, and performance of the organization’s network infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily network operations and team performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of network services.
- Assign tasks and provide technical guidance to junior and mid-level administrators, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Ensure compliance with security policies, industry standards, and best practices to safeguard network integrity.
- Conduct regular network performance analysis, optimizations, and troubleshooting to enhance operational efficiency.
- Manage network expansion and upgrade projects, including budget planning and vendor negotiations to meet organizational needs.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, policies, and procedures to support operational consistency.
- Collaborate with IT leadership on network strategy, capacity planning, and risk assessments to align with business objectives.
- Implement automation and monitoring tools to enhance network efficiency and security, reducing manual workload.
- Conduct training sessions and mentorship programs for network administration staff to promote professional development.
- Perform audits and vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate network risks, ensuring robust security measures.
- Ensure business continuity and disaster recovery planning for network infrastructure to minimize downtime and data loss.
- Stay updated with emerging network technologies and recommend improvements to enhance network capabilities.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Strong understanding of networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS, QoS, SD-WAN).
- Expertise in configuring and maintaining enterprise-level network hardware (Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Fortinet).
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, firewalls, IDS/IPS, and VPNs.
- Hands-on experience with cloud and hybrid networking solutions (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Advanced troubleshooting skills for Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues.
- Experience with scripting and automation tools (Python, PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and network service management.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master’s degree (preferred but not required).
- Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CISSP, or equivalent.
