Job Title: National Sales Director

Job Summary:

The National Sales Director is a senior executive responsible for developing and executing a strategic sales vision across multiple regions or nationwide. This role drives revenue growth, optimizes sales operations, and leads high-performing sales teams to achieve aggressive business targets. As a key member of the executive leadership team, the National Sales Director will formulate and implement sales strategies, foster strong customer relationships, and drive organizational excellence to position the company as an industry leader.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a comprehensive national sales strategy that aligns with the company’s business goals.
  • Set clear sales targets and KPIs, ensuring the strategy translates into measurable revenue growth.
  • Identify and capitalize on new market opportunities and emerging trends to drive nationwide growth.
  • Lead initiatives for market penetration, competitive analysis, and strategic positioning.
  • Lead and mentor a large, geographically dispersed sales team, including regional managers and key account executives.
  • Establish a high-performance culture through leadership development, coaching, and talent management.
  • Monitor sales performance and provide strategic guidance and accountability to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Conduct regular reviews, adjust plans as necessary, and drive continuous improvement across the team.
  • Oversee relationships with top-tier national accounts and strategic partners to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Act as the senior-level point of contact for key clients, resolving escalated issues and negotiating large-scale contracts.
  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, finance, and operations to align sales strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Serve as a liaison between the sales organization and executive leadership, providing insights and updates on market conditions and sales performance.
  • Implement best practices in sales operations, leveraging technology and analytics to optimize sales processes and enhance productivity.
  • Ensure robust forecasting, pipeline management, and sales reporting systems are in place.
  • Develop and manage the national sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to drive ROI.
  • Track financial performance against targets and adjust strategies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required; an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10-15 years of progressive sales experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing national or multi-regional sales operations.
  • Proven track record of driving significant revenue growth, managing large teams, and leading strategic sales initiatives at an executive level.
