The Mig Welder is a junior-level position responsible for performing welding tasks using the Metal Inert Gas (MIG) welding process. This role requires a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of welding techniques, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational knowledge of welding safety practices and be eager to learn and grow within the field. The Mig Welder will contribute to various projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform MIG welding tasks for Low Pressure pipe welding in the Power/Process industry.
Maintain tools and machines issued for the job.
Understand and employ safe working practices and comply with Client safety rules and regulations.
Perform brazing, gas cutting, and gas heating jobs.
Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and work accordingly.
Work on fabrication aspects involving piping, fittings, and structural components.
Fill daily welding records accurately.
Support senior welders with various welding tasks and projects.
Required Skills and Abilities:
Ability to speak and understand Hindi, Urdu, or English.
Proficiency in maintaining and operating welding tools and machines.
Understanding of safety requirements and ability to employ safe working practices.
Knowledge of MIG welding techniques.
Familiarity with brazing, gas cutting, and gas heating jobs.
Ability to follow WPS instructions and work accordingly.
Knowledge of fabrication aspects involving piping, fittings, and structural components.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining welding records.
Ability to report in proper uniforms, safety helmets, safety shoes, and other PPEs (e.g., gloves).
Punctuality and reliability, with a commitment to not being absent from work without valid reasons and prior permission.
Medically fit in conformity with the regulations laid down by UAE Municipality’s Health department.
Qualifications:
Matriculation certificate or equivalent.
Relevant technical certification or training in welding or a related field.
Hands-On Experience:
2-3 years of hands-on experience in welding, brazing, gas cutting, or a related field.
Familiarity with working as a Low Pressure Pipe Welder in the Power/Process industry.
