Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
Assist with Maintenance and Repairs:
- Assist senior technicians with the maintenance and repair of mechanical systems, including engines, pumps, motors, and other mechanical equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting mechanical parts and systems under supervision.
- Help in the disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of machinery components and assist in replacing damaged parts.
Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:
- Assist in troubleshooting basic mechanical issues, such as identifying faulty components or systems through observation and testing.
- Help use diagnostic tools to identify and resolve mechanical problems in systems like engines, transmission, and electrical components.
- Support senior technicians in diagnosing more complex mechanical problems and learning troubleshooting techniques.
System Inspections and Performance Monitoring:
- Help conduct inspections on mechanical systems to check for signs of wear, leaks, or other malfunctions.
- Assist in monitoring the performance of equipment during operations, noting any irregularities and reporting them to senior staff.
- Document inspection results and provide feedback on the condition of equipment for future maintenance planning.
Tool and Equipment Handling:
- Help in organizing, maintaining, and using tools and mechanical equipment required for maintenance and repair tasks.
- Ensure tools are kept in good working order and assist in the safe use of all equipment.
- Assist with maintaining the workshop area, keeping it clean and organized, and ensuring tools are properly stored.
Learning and Development:
- Participate in training programs to enhance your technical knowledge and hands-on skills with mechanical systems and equipment.
- Learn how to properly use diagnostic tools, mechanical equipment, and follow repair procedures as outlined by senior technicians and engineers.
- Develop an understanding of safety standards, industry regulations, and best practices for mechanical maintenance.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols while working on mechanical systems, ensuring safe working conditions for yourself and the team.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhere to all workplace safety guidelines.
- Report any unsafe conditions or accidents to your supervisor to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Help maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance tasks performed.
- Assist in preparing simple reports on work completed, including parts replaced and observations on the system’s performance.
- Ensure proper documentation of all activities for future reference and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field is a plus.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems or a keen interest in developing mechanical skills.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of prior professional experience required; this is an entry-level role suitable for individuals looking to develop a career in mechanical maintenance.
- Any internships, practical coursework, or hands-on projects related to mechanical systems will be an advantage.
