The Senior Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC Section is responsible for leading all mechanical works related to HVAC systems, including planning, execution, quality control, and coordination. This role requires expertise in managing large teams, handling complex site challenges, ensuring compliance with standards, and serving as the key link between field teams, consultants, and project management. The candidate should demonstrate leadership in both construction and maintenance environments.
Lead and supervise the complete installation of HVAC mechanical systems:
Ducting (GI, PI, double-wall), chilled water and refrigerant piping, insulation, dampers, hangers, and vibration isolators.
Equipment installation: chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRF/VRV systems, exhaust and ventilation fans, VAVs, pumps, etc.
Interpret and ensure compliance with mechanical/HVAC drawings, BOQs, method statements, and project specifications.
Coordinate with consultants, main contractors, and other services (electrical, plumbing, civil) for seamless system integration.
Prepare and verify material take-offs (MTOs), manpower planning, and ensure correct installation practices and sequencing.
Manage third-party testing, balancing (TAB), and participate in commissioning of HVAC systems.
Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC mechanical systems in operational buildings or plants.
Supervise diagnosis and repair of mechanical components: valves, pumps, compressors, piping, duct systems, cooling coils, belts, and bearings.
Monitor HVAC system performance metrics (flow rate, temperature delta, efficiency) and recommend energy-saving actions.
Validate AMC activities performed by OEMs or contractors and ensure system uptime and reliability KPIs are met.
Maintain documentation: service logs, equipment history cards, PPM schedules, SOPs, and risk assessments.
Team Leadership: Supervise teams of fitters, pipe welders, duct fabricators, riggers, and helpers. Lead toolbox talks and daily briefings.
Technical Supervision: Enforce installation/methodology as per SMACNA, ASHRAE, ISHRAE, and project-specific codes.
Quality & Compliance: Inspect completed work, ensure as-built accuracy, close NCRs, and address punch points.
Site Coordination: Liaise with project engineers, QA/QC teams, and site safety for issue resolution and schedule adherence.
HSE Management: Ensure safe lifting, working-at-height procedures, confined space safety, and appropriate PPE usage.
