The Mid-Level Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC Section is responsible for leading and overseeing the execution or maintenance of HVAC mechanical works, ensuring quality, safety, and timely delivery. The role requires managing a team of technicians and fitters, interpreting mechanical drawings, coordinating with other disciplines, and ensuring site operations align with project goals and technical specifications.
Supervise the installation of mechanical HVAC systems including ducting (GI/PI), chilled water piping, copper piping (VRF/VRV), valves, dampers, hangers, and HVAC equipment such as AHUs, FCUs, chillers, exhaust fans, etc.
Ensure all installations adhere to drawings, specifications, and relevant standards (SMACNA, ASHRAE, ISHRAE).
Coordinate with civil, electrical, plumbing, and BMS teams for interface and service integration.
Manage day-to-day site activities including labor allocation, productivity tracking, and daily progress reports.
Oversee testing and balancing, hydrostatic testing, and mechanical system commissioning support.
Lead the execution of preventive and breakdown maintenance for mechanical HVAC systems.
Supervise inspection, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical components: pumps, compressors, piping joints, expansion tanks, etc.
Review maintenance logs, spare parts inventory, and system downtime reports.
Monitor HVAC performance metrics and report anomalies or system inefficiencies to the engineering team.
Site Management: Hands-on supervision of mechanical teams including duct and pipe fitters, welders, and helpers.
Drawing Interpretation: Read and implement shop drawings, isometrics, and coordination layouts.
Material Handling: Monitor receipt, inspection, and proper storage/use of mechanical materials and equipment.
Quality Assurance: Conduct mechanical inspections, snag resolution, and participate in third-party/consultant inspections.
Health & Safety: Enforce safe work practices, toolbox talks, PPE usage, and adherence to site HSE protocols.
Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical / HVAC Engineering.
4–7 years of experience in HVAC mechanical installation or maintenance.
Strong knowledge of duct fabrication and installation, chilled water piping, VRF systems, and associated mechanical accessories.
Familiarity with HVAC system components, insulation practices, and installation methods.
Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, performing measurements, and ensuring tolerances.
Good communication, team leadership, and problem-solving skills.
