Roles & Responsibilities

The Junior Mechanical Supervisor – HVAC Section assists in supervising HVAC mechanical works such as ducting, piping, equipment installation, or maintenance activities. This role is ideal for individuals starting their supervisory career, transitioning from technician roles, or gaining field experience. The candidate will support senior supervisors and engineers by ensuring smooth daily operations, site coordination, and adherence to safety and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Site Execution (Installation Focus):

  • Supervise the installation of mechanical components: GI/PI ductwork, chilled water or refrigerant piping, HVAC equipment (AHUs, FCUs, VRF units, exhaust fans).

  • Assist in coordinating daily site activities with technicians, duct fitters, and pipe fabricators.

  • Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and bracketing of mechanical systems as per drawings.

  • Report progress, manpower deployment, and any site issues to the Senior Supervisor or HVAC Engineer.

  • Conduct visual inspections and participate in pressure/leak testing of ducts and pipes.

O&M / Facility Maintenance (If Applicable):

  • Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance tasks for HVAC mechanical systems.

  • Monitor equipment like chillers, pumps, piping joints, expansion valves, and duct connections.

  • Maintain basic logs for work orders, repair activities, and equipment downtime.

  • Identify minor mechanical faults and escalate complex issues to senior staff or vendors.

  • Ensure equipment cleanliness and safe operation during and after maintenance.


Key Focus Areas:

  • Mechanical Supervision: Oversee ducting and piping layout, equipment handling, and site-level mechanical works.

  • Daily Coordination: Work with technicians and site foremen to achieve daily targets.

  • Compliance: Ensure work complies with safety standards and project specifications.

  • Learning & Support: Assist senior supervisors/engineers in document preparation, snag closures, and inspections.

  • Safety: Ensure workers use PPE, follow safe lifting practices, and adhere to site HSE norms.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • ITI / Diploma / Degree in Mechanical or HVAC Engineering.

  • 1–3 years of site experience in HVAC mechanical work (installation or maintenance).

  • Understanding of HVAC systems and components like ducts, pumps, chillers, AHUs, FCUs, valves, and piping accessories.

  • Ability to read basic mechanical drawings (duct layout, pipe layout, equipment mounting).

  • Basic reporting and communication skills to document site activities or escalate issues.

  • Teamwork-oriented and safety-conscious.
