The Mechanical Procurement Manager β Valves and Rotating Equipment leads the sourcing, negotiation, and procurement of mechanical components including valves, pumps, compressors, turbines, and related rotating equipment. The role is responsible for ensuring procurement activities align with project schedules, budget targets, and technical specifications while maintaining supplier relationships and mitigating supply chain risks.
Develop and execute procurement strategies specifically for valves and rotating equipment to support operational and project requirements.
Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers globally, ensuring compliance with quality, cost, and delivery standards.
Negotiate terms, pricing, contracts, and service agreements with key suppliers.
Collaborate closely with engineering, maintenance, and project teams to understand technical requirements and ensure procurement specifications meet design and operational standards.
Review technical documents (datasheets, specs, vendor drawings) and participate in Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs).
Manage RFQ/RFP processes, bid comparisons, and supplier selection.
Prepare purchase orders and monitor order execution, expediting deliveries as necessary.
Track purchase orders, delivery schedules, and inventory levels to avoid project delays.
Coordinate with quality assurance teams to ensure suppliers comply with industry standards (API, ISO, ASME).
Manage supplier performance, addressing any quality issues, non-conformances, or deviations.
Optimize total cost of ownership (TCO) through cost negotiations, value engineering, and alternative sourcing.
Identify supply risks and develop mitigation plans, including contingency sourcing and stock management.
Lead and mentor procurement team members handling valves and rotating equipment categories.
Promote continuous improvement in procurement processes and supplier relationships.
Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or Business (Required)
Advanced degree or professional procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM) preferred
Minimum 8β12 years of procurement experience in mechanical equipment categories, including valves and rotating machinery.
Proven track record in supplier management, contract negotiation, and project procurement in industrial sectors.
In-depth knowledge of valves, pumps, compressors, turbines, and rotating equipment
