The Mid-Level Mechanical Materials Handler is responsible for overseeing the packaging, storage, and preservation of valves and related mechanical components, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications and industry best practices. This role involves coordinating material handling operations, supervising junior staff, and maintaining inventory integrity for timely and damage-free delivery to projects.
Plan and execute appropriate packaging and preservation methods (e.g., rust prevention, moisture barriers) for various valve types and mechanical parts.
Ensure materials are stored in optimal conditions to prevent corrosion, contamination, or mechanical damage.
Manage packaging supplies and preservation materials inventory.
Ensure all mechanical materials are accurately tagged and labeled with heat numbers, batch codes, and project identifiers.
Maintain detailed records of packaging, storage, and preservation activities using warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software.
Prepare and review material receiving and dispatch documentation.
Supervise the organization of warehouse storage, ensuring segregation of materials by project, type, and priority.
Coordinate material movement using forklifts, cranes, or other handling equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency.
Conduct regular inspections of stored valves and components to monitor preservation status and physical condition.
Lead junior materials handlers and warehouse staff in daily operations, providing guidance and training on proper handling and preservation techniques.
Collaborate with procurement, QA/QC, and project teams to resolve material-related issues.
Support inventory audits, stocktaking, and reporting activities.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures in all handling and storage operations.
Participate in safety meetings, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Diploma or Bachelorβs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or related field (Preferred)
3β6 years in material handling, packaging, and preservation of mechanical equipment, valves preferred
Experience working with EPC, oil & gas, or industrial manufacturing projects
In-depth knowledge of valve types and preservation requirements
Experience with packaging materials and corrosion prevention techniques
Skilled in warehouse management and ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification preferred)
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
