The Senior Mechanical Maintenance Technician leads the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC mechanical systems in water treatment plants. This role is responsible for ensuring HVAC equipment operates at peak performance, mentoring junior staff, and supporting system upgrades and preventive maintenance programs, all while upholding strict safety and regulatory compliance.
Lead troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of HVAC mechanical components including compressors, pumps, motors, fans, chillers, boilers, and ventilation systems.
Diagnose complex mechanical issues and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime and ensure reliable plant environmental control.
Develop, review, and implement preventive maintenance schedules and procedures.
Provide technical guidance and training to junior and mid-level technicians.
Collaborate with HVAC engineers, plant management, and external contractors on system improvements and modifications.
Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, including lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space protocols, and proper PPE use.
Maintain detailed maintenance records, inspection reports, and compliance documentation.
Participate in or lead safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
Education:
Technical diploma, associate degree, or equivalent in HVAC Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred
Experience:
5+ years of mechanical maintenance experience, with extensive work on HVAC systems in water treatment or industrial settings
Skills:
Expert-level mechanical troubleshooting and repair capabilities
Strong leadership, mentorship, and project coordination skills
Proficiency reading and interpreting technical manuals, schematics, and HVAC system designs
