The Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for leading the mechanical maintenance team in executing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance across production and facility equipment. This role ensures mechanical systems—including conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and packaging lines—operate reliably and safely to meet production goals. The supervisor manages daily technician activities, coordinates with cross-functional teams, supports asset reliability strategies, and ensures compliance with safety and GMP standards.
Lead and supervise a team of 5–10 mechanical technicians across assigned shifts.
Plan and assign work orders based on production schedules, equipment priorities, and maintenance needs.
Provide hands-on support and guidance during complex repairs and breakdowns.
Oversee the execution of preventive maintenance (PM) plans and ensure PM compliance.
Review and improve mechanical maintenance procedures and checklists.
Lead troubleshooting of mechanical issues on production lines, utilities, and facility systems.
Collaborate with Maintenance Planners, Production, and Engineering to minimize unplanned downtime and improve maintenance scheduling.
Support spare parts planning and critical equipment inventory management.
Assist in planning and executing mechanical scope for shutdowns, overhauls, or small capital projects.
Ensure mechanical maintenance activities follow OSHA, LOTO, machine guarding, and plant safety procedures.
Promote food safety, GMP, and sanitation compliance in mechanical work areas.
Participate in safety audits, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
Use CMMS to track maintenance KPIs: response time, downtime, MTTR, PM completion, and backlog.
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and continuous improvement (CI) initiatives to reduce equipment failures.
Identify and implement improvements to mechanical systems, reliability practices, and team performance.
