Job Title: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Junior Level to join our maintenance team. As a junior engineer, you will work under the guidance of senior engineers to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment within the facility. You will gain hands-on experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical issues, as well as supporting the team with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks. This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates looking to apply their skills and develop expertise in mechanical maintenance.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance and Repair of Mechanical Systems:

    • Assist in the troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical systems, including pumps, compressors, HVAC systems, conveyors, and other equipment.
    • Learn to diagnose mechanical issues, perform repairs, and ensure all systems are functioning optimally.
    • Participate in disassembling and reassembling machinery for repairs and part replacements under the supervision of senior engineers.
  2. Preventive Maintenance:

    • Assist in the implementation of preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for mechanical systems to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
    • Perform routine inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely.
    • Assist in maintaining logs of maintenance activities, parts used, and any issues encountered.
  3. System Monitoring:

    • Support the monitoring of mechanical systems to ensure they operate within desired parameters such as pressure, temperature, and flow rates.
    • Learn to use diagnostic tools and instruments to identify system irregularities and ensure equipment performance.
    • Report any issues, inefficiencies, or concerns to senior engineers for further analysis or action.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, parts replaced, and system performance.
    • Help prepare reports on mechanical systems’ performance, maintenance schedules, and any issues or corrective actions taken.
    • Assist in tracking inventory for mechanical parts and tools, ensuring necessary components are available for maintenance tasks.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in accordance with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
    • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments, identifying potential hazards and recommending corrective actions.
    • Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when working with mechanical systems.
  6. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Participate in on-the-job training and mentorship programs to develop skills in mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Learn how to use industry-standard tools and techniques for mechanical system diagnostics, repair, and maintenance.
    • Gain proficiency in reading technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics to understand machinery specifications and repair requirements.

  4. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Develop technical skills and expertise in mechanical systems, focusing on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
    • Any relevant coursework or academic projects related to mechanical systems, machinery, or industrial maintenance is beneficial.
  2. Experience:

    • 1-2 years prior professional experience required. This is an entry-level position ideal for recent graduates or individuals looking to start a career in mechanical maintenance.
    • Any internships, hands-on projects, or training related to mechanical systems or industrial maintenance will be beneficial.
  3. Skills:

    • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and equipment, with a strong interest in learning more about their maintenance and operation.
    • Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with CAD software and maintenance management systems is a plus.
    • Good problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues.
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to work effectively as part of a team.
    • Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • Any relevant certifications related to mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, or safety (e.g., OSHA, First Aid) are beneficial but not required.
