The Junior Mechanical Logistics Technician is responsible for supporting the safe and timely movement of valves and mechanical equipment by coordinating transport, assisting with crating and packing, and maintaining logistics documentation. The role is focused on hands-on support within a warehouse or dispatch environment, ensuring compliance with packaging and shipping standards (API/ASTM/Project-specific).
Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day valve dispatch schedules in coordination with the warehouse and transport team.
Prepare delivery notes, packing lists, and valve movement logs for outgoing shipments.
Communicate with transport vendors and site receivers for smooth pick-up and delivery.
Assist in the preparation and inspection of wooden crates, skids, and packaging material.
Secure valves using appropriate methods (foam padding, rust preventive wraps, desiccants).
Label crates according to valve specifications, weight, orientation, and handling instructions.
Move packed valves using pallet jacks or forklifts (if certified), ensuring safe stacking and loading.
Follow correct loading techniques to prevent transit damage.
Assist in internal movements for staging and dispatch prep.
Maintain accurate dispatch records, packing checklists, and crating logs.
Assist in updating ERP or inventory management systems with shipment details.
Support compliance with international export regulations and client requirements.
Technical Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Supply Chain
Additional certification in warehouse or transport operations (preferred)
1–3 years in logistics, mechanical warehouse dispatch, or crating & packing operations
Experience with valves, pumps, or piping equipment preferred
Working knowledge of packaging standards (ASTM, ISPM-15, or project-specific)
Basic understanding of valve types and crating requirements
Familiarity with shipping documents and transport planning
Physically fit, safety-conscious, and team-oriented
Able to work with tools and lifting equipment under supervision
Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP data entry)
