Job Title: Mechanical Fitter

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Fitter (Fresher) to join our team in the Oil and Gas / Power Plant industry. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the maintenance, installation, and repair of mechanical equipment in a dynamic industrial environment. As a Junior Fitter, you will work under the guidance of experienced technicians and engineers, assisting in the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems while learning and developing your skills.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Assisting in Mechanical Installation and Maintenance:

   • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment such as pumps, valves, compressors, turbines, and engines used in oil and gas or power plant operations.
   • Perform routine maintenance tasks under supervision to ensure the equipment runs efficiently.
   • Support the team in checking and testing mechanical systems, ensuring they meet operational standards.

2. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics:

   • Help troubleshoot mechanical faults by assisting with diagnostic tools and performing hands-on inspections.
   • Learn how to identify mechanical issues and work under the supervision of senior technicians to find solutions.
   • Assist with minor repairs and replacements of mechanical components as directed by senior staff.

3. Safety and Compliance:

   • Follow safety protocols and ensure that all work is performed in adherence to safety regulations and industry standards.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and observe safety guidelines to minimize risks.
   • Participate in safety training and workshops to understand workplace safety measures and hazard assessments.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain records of all tasks performed, including maintenance schedules, repairs, inspections, and parts used.
   • Assist in reporting any safety or operational issues encountered during work, ensuring that they are recorded and communicated to senior staff.

5. Team Collaboration and Learning:

   • Work closely with senior mechanical fitters, engineers, and other team members to learn best practices in mechanical fitting and maintenance.
   • Participate in on-the-job training, gaining exposure to a wide range of mechanical systems and equipment.
   • Collaborate with other team members to complete mechanical tasks in a timely manner and meet project deadlines.

6. Continuous Learning and Development:

   • Actively engage in learning opportunities to enhance technical knowledge and mechanical skills.
   • Attend training sessions or workshops to build your expertise in mechanical fitting, tools, equipment, and safety practices.
   • Seek feedback from senior team members to improve performance and knowledge.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Educational Requirements:

   • High school diploma or equivalent; a technical diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field is preferred but not required.

2. Experience:

   • No prior work experience required (fresher position).
   • A keen interest in mechanical systems and hands-on work in the oil and gas or power plant industries.

3. Skills:

   • Basic mechanical knowledge and interest in learning about mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
   • Strong willingness to learn and develop new skills under supervision.
   • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members.
   • Ability to follow instructions carefully and adhere to safety protocols.
   • Strong attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently.

4. Certifications (Preferred, but not required):

   • Any certifications related to mechanical fitting, welding, or safety (OSHA, First Aid) would be a plus but not mandatory.
