We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Fabrication Engineer to manage and coordinate fabrication activities in power plant construction and maintenance projects. The mid-level role involves responsibility for reviewing and interpreting engineering drawings, supervising fabrication workflows, ensuring adherence to quality standards (ASME, AWS, API), and interfacing with vendors and site teams. Ideal candidates will bring hands-on shop experience and technical leadership in heavy mechanical fabrication, welding, and assembly.
Review fabrication drawings, BOMs, and welding schedules for components such as pressure parts, ducts, piping, tanks, and steel structures.
Supervise daily fabrication operations including cutting, fitting, welding, and finishing.
Ensure fabrication tasks meet project timelines, specifications, and quality standards.
Provide technical guidance to fabrication teams on drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances.
Coordinate with design, QA/QC, and project engineering to resolve technical discrepancies.
Monitor welder performance and ensure WPS adherence during fabrication.
Support visual inspections and fit-up checks in collaboration with QA/QC.
Maintain fabrication progress reports, weld logs, and dimensional records.
Prepare documentation for fabrication completion, NDT coordination, and final handover.
Ensure that all fabrication operations comply with site safety protocols and PPE usage.
Support HSE initiatives and contribute to toolbox talks and hazard identification efforts.
Ensure work is performed in accordance with ASME, AWS D1.1, API 650, or project-specific codes.
Oversee activities at subcontractor workshops and inspect incoming prefabricated items.
Ensure that workshop equipment (cutting machines, rollers, welding machines) is properly maintained and calibrated.
Interpret and implement fabrication drawings and welding specifications
Oversee day-to-day mechanical fabrication and welding operations
Ensure code compliance (ASME, AWS, API) in structural and pressure part fabrication
