We are seeking an enthusiastic Junior Mechanical Fabrication Engineer to support fabrication activities within power plant projects. This entry-level position is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers interested in mechanical component fabrication, welding processes, and structural assembly. The role involves assisting in reviewing fabrication drawings, coordinating with workshops, monitoring work progress, and ensuring compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
Assist in reviewing mechanical fabrication drawings and material specifications.
Support the fabrication of structures, piping, tanks, ducts, and supports per project requirements.
Coordinate with workshop personnel to ensure tasks align with approved plans.
Monitor daily fabrication activities including cutting, fitting, welding, and assembly.
Report deviations or quality concerns to senior engineers or supervisors.
Support dimensional checks and ensure adherence to tolerances and QA requirements.
Maintain logs of fabrication progress, inspections, and test reports.
Assist in preparing fabrication-related documentation such as weld maps and fit-up checklists.
Track material utilization and support inventory control efforts.
Ensure adherence to fabrication safety procedures and PPE usage.
Support welding and fabrication quality checks under guidance of QA/QC personnel.
Participate in toolbox talks, shop safety audits, and risk assessments.
Learn applicable codes (ASME, AWS, API) and fabrication workflows.
Build familiarity with welding processes and mechanical assembly methods.
Participate in training sessions on fabrication, materials, and inspection.
Assist in mechanical fabrication and structural assembly activities
Support drawing interpretation and technical supervision
Monitor shop activities for quality and safety adherence
Participate in documentation, inspection prep, and reporting tasks
Build technical knowledge in welding, materials, and fabrication standards
Education:
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering
Experience:
0–2 years of experience (internship or project exposure to fabrication/welding preferred)
Skills:
Ability to read mechanical/fabrication drawings and welding symbols
Basic knowledge of cutting, fitting, and welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW)
Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Willingness to work in workshop and project environments
