Job Title: Mechanical Engineer – Turbo Integration

Job Summary:

The Mid-Level Mechanical Engineer – Turbo Integration is responsible for independently managing the design, development, and integration of turbocharger systems within engine platforms. This role supports prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation efforts, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance and durability of turbo systems. The engineer applies technical expertise to resolve integration challenges, improve designs, and contribute to continuous product improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead mechanical design and integration activities for turbocharger components including mounting systems, ducting, and cooling interfaces.

  • Develop and update detailed CAD models, engineering drawings, and technical specifications to support prototype and production designs.

  • Plan and support prototype assembly, testing, and validation efforts, ensuring data accuracy and test execution quality.

  • Analyze test data related to turbo system performance, including pressures, temperatures, and mechanical stresses, to identify improvement opportunities.

  • Collaborate with controls, calibration, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve integration issues and support product launch readiness.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and integration issues on prototypes and early production builds, providing root cause analysis and corrective action recommendations.

  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, sharing technical knowledge and best practices.

  • Maintain up-to-date engineering documentation, revision control, and compliance with company standards.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field required

Experience:

  • 3–6 years of experience in automotive or mechanical engineering, preferably with turbocharger or powertrain systems

  • Demonstrated ability to lead design and integration projects through prototype and validation phases

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency with CAD software (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX)

  • Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanical systems, and material selection

  • Experience with prototype testing, data acquisition, and analysis tools

  • Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications
