Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor – Mid-Level to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a team of maintenance technicians, ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment. You will oversee day-to-day operations, manage preventive maintenance schedules, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. This position offers an opportunity to take on leadership responsibilities while working closely with senior management to maintain the functionality and efficiency of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervision of Maintenance Activities:
- Supervise the daily operations of the maintenance team, ensuring that mechanical systems and equipment are functioning correctly and efficiently.
- Assign tasks to team members based on priority, skill level, and project needs, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Monitor work progress and provide guidance and support to technicians to ensure quality maintenance and timely completion of tasks.
Preventive and Corrective Maintenance:
- Oversee the implementation of preventive maintenance schedules to ensure the longevity and reliability of mechanical equipment.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts and resolve complex mechanical issues, utilizing diagnostic tools, technical manuals, and hands-on problem-solving.
- Ensure that all repairs and maintenance are carried out in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Mentor and coach junior and mid-level technicians, helping them to develop their technical and problem-solving skills.
- Provide training to team members on maintenance procedures, safety practices, and new technologies.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities are carried out in compliance with safety standards, local regulations, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety audits, identify potential hazards, and implement corrective actions as needed to mitigate risks.
- Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and other safety protocols during maintenance tasks.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, repairs, and parts usage.
- Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on the condition of mechanical systems, maintenance progress, and equipment performance.
- Assist in the development of maintenance schedules, inventory management, and procurement of materials and parts for ongoing projects.
Operational Efficiency and Continuous Improvement:
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the maintenance team.
- Recommend and oversee upgrades to mechanical systems and equipment, ensuring that improvements align with company goals.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and best practices, and introduce innovative solutions to improve mechanical operations.
Collaboration with Other Departments:
- Coordinate with other departments, including engineering, operations, and safety teams, to ensure alignment on maintenance activities and project timelines.
- Assist in managing external contractors and vendors when necessary, ensuring that work is completed to specification and within budget.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Additional certifications in mechanical systems, safety, or supervisory roles are a plus.
Experience:
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance or operations, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Proven experience with mechanical systems such as pumps, compressors, turbines, HVAC systems, and other industrial equipment.
- Experience in troubleshooting, repairs, preventive maintenance, and system optimization in an industrial setting.
Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to guide, mentor, and motivate a team.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting complex mechanical systems, using tools, manuals, and technical diagrams.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to report to senior management and collaborate with other teams.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA or other safety-related certifications.
- Millwright, mechanical technician, or other related certifications.
- First Aid/CPR and other relevant safety certifications.
