Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor 

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Mechanical Supervisor – Junior Level to join our growing maintenance team. As a junior-level mechanical supervisor, you will support senior supervisors in overseeing and managing mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and repairs within the facility. This role is perfect for individuals with some technical background or hands-on experience, looking to take on a supervisory role and grow their leadership skills. You will gain exposure to managing maintenance teams, ensuring work efficiency, and ensuring safety and compliance with mechanical work standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting in Supervising Maintenance and Repair Activities:

    • Assist senior mechanical supervisors in overseeing daily maintenance and repair activities of machinery, including pumps, motors, turbines, and compressors.
    • Help assign tasks to the maintenance team, ensuring that all work is completed efficiently and safely.
    • Coordinate with different departments to ensure machinery downtime is minimized and equipment runs smoothly.
  2. Monitoring and Ensuring Safety Standards:

    • Assist in maintaining a safe work environment by enforcing safety protocols, ensuring all staff wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure all maintenance work complies with internal safety standards and industry regulations.
    • Conduct regular checks to ensure safety protocols are followed during mechanical work and repairs.
  3. Team Coordination and Support:

    • Work closely with the maintenance team to ensure that all tasks are completed as per the scheduled plan.
    • Assist in ensuring the team is adequately equipped with tools and materials needed for maintenance and repair tasks.
    • Support in leading a small team, ensuring work is completed on time and up to company standards.
  4. Providing Technical Assistance:

    • Assist senior supervisors in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to mechanical systems and equipment failures.
    • Help with routine inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems, identifying signs of wear and tear and recommending repairs.
    • Use diagnostic tools to identify faults and communicate potential issues to the senior team for further action.
  5. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Help maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts usage.
    • Assist in creating reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and downtime.
    • Track inventory and ensure parts and tools are available for maintenance tasks.
  6. Learning and Development:

    • Participate in training programs and learn from experienced supervisors to develop knowledge in mechanical systems, maintenance practices, and team management.
    • Attend technical workshops or courses to enhance skills and knowledge in the mechanical field.
    • Take on more responsibilities as you progress in your role, developing your leadership skills and understanding of the mechanical supervisor position.

    • Assist in organizing and supervising the work of maintenance technicians, ensuring efficient completion of tasks.
  2. Safety and Compliance:

    • Enforce safety procedures, ensuring that all work is carried out according to safety standards and regulations.
  3. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Learn the fundamentals of mechanical supervision and improve your knowledge of mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Assist in keeping accurate records and reports related to maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent; an associate’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
    • Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools, and equipment.
  2. Experience:

    • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance or related technical field is preferred but not required.
    • Familiarity with the tools and techniques used in mechanical repairs, diagnostics, and preventive maintenance.
  3. Skills:

    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to team members.
    • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Ability to work in a team and support senior staff.
    • A proactive attitude toward problem-solving and learning new skills.
    • Basic knowledge of safety procedures and equipment maintenance.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • Any certifications related to mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, or safety (e.g., OSHA) would be beneficial.
    • Familiarity with tools and equipment such as wrenches, power drills, and diagnostic instruments.
