The Senior Mechanical Assembler leads and performs complex assembly, integration, and alignment of mechanical systems—such as valves, pumps, piping, and skid-mounted water treatment modules. This role requires expert-level understanding of mechanical layouts, tolerances, and industrial components, and is critical in ensuring high-quality, code-compliant builds for municipal and industrial water treatment systems. The senior assembler also mentors junior staff and may serve as a technical lead on shop floor projects.
Independently assemble complex skid systems and mechanical modules, including precise alignment of rotating equipment, valve banks, and pressure-rated piping networks.
Lead or perform precision assembly and torquing of flanged joints, valve actuators, pump-motor couplings, and seal systems.
Execute complex fit-up tasks with minimal rework, ensuring tolerances, alignment, and operational performance.
Conduct mechanical pre-checks, static leak testing, pressure checks, and dry-run functionality assessments.
Identify and resolve mechanical defects or alignment issues during assembly or FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing).
Collaborate with QA/QC and engineering teams to validate build specifications and resolve technical discrepancies.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level assemblers on best practices, tool use, and safety compliance.
Act as mechanical team lead for large skid builds or critical-path projects.
Coordinate with fabrication, electrical, and logistics teams to streamline build schedules.
Interpret complex assembly drawings, BOMs, and P&IDs; identify inconsistencies or missing information.
Complete detailed assembly records, redline changes, and contribute to build documentation packages.
Support root-cause analysis and continuous improvement of assembly practices.
Promote and enforce strict adherence to shop safety procedures including LOTO, hoisting/rigging safety, and PPE.
Act as a role model in promoting zero-incident culture and safe work practices.
