The Materials Manager β MRO Mechanical Components is responsible for the efficient management and control of MRO inventory focused on mechanical components such as valves, actuators, seals, fasteners, bearings, and related spares. The role ensures availability of critical parts to support maintenance operations and minimize downtime, while optimizing inventory levels and costs.
Oversee the planning, forecasting, and control of MRO mechanical inventory, ensuring availability of valves and related components to support preventive and corrective maintenance activities.
Define and manage inventory targets including minimum stock levels, reorder points, and safety stock based on usage and lead times.
Implement inventory optimization strategies to reduce excess and obsolete stock without impacting operational readiness.
Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely replenishment of critical MRO mechanical parts.
Support vendor-managed inventory (VMI) programs and consignment stock arrangements where applicable.
Monitor supplier performance, delivery lead times, and quality of mechanical spares.
Manage storage, handling, and issuance of mechanical components in warehouses or storerooms.
Ensure proper identification, labeling, and tracking of valves and MRO parts through ERP/WMS systems.
Maintain compliance with safety, HSE, and quality standards in materials handling.
Work closely with maintenance, reliability, engineering, and operations teams to align material availability with maintenance schedules and asset criticality.
Participate in maintenance planning meetings and shutdown preparation to forecast material requirements.
Maintain accurate records and generate reports on inventory turnover, stock levels, stockouts, and costs.
Lead initiatives to improve inventory accuracy, reduce carrying costs, and enhance supply chain responsiveness.
Utilize data analytics and ERP tools to drive improvements in MRO material management.
Bachelorβs degree in Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field (Required)
8+ years in materials or inventory management roles, with at least 3 years managing MRO mechanical components including valves.
Experience in industries with heavy equipment maintenance focus such as oil & gas, manufacturing, power, or utilities.
