Job Title: Mass Calibration Engineer
Job Summary:
The Junior Mass Calibration Engineer is responsible for performing routine calibration, testing, and maintenance of mass measurement devices, including balances, standard weights, and load cells. This role involves executing calibration tasks with minimal supervision while ensuring compliance with industry standards and organizational protocols. The engineer contributes to the accuracy and reliability of mass measurement systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration and Testing:
- Perform routine calibration of mass measurement devices such as analytical balances, weight sets, and load cells.
- Test and verify the performance of weights and balances using standard calibration equipment and procedures.
- Address minor calibration discrepancies, ensuring instruments meet required accuracy levels.
Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and detailed calibration records, including test results and calibration certificates.
- Ensure all documentation complies with ISO 17025 and organizational quality standards.
- Assist in updating calibration procedures and manuals as required.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Conduct preventive maintenance on calibration tools and systems, such as weight comparators, precision balances, and load cells.
- Diagnose and resolve basic issues in mass measurement devices with minimal supervision.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure calibration activities comply with relevant standards such as ISO 17025 and OIML guidelines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and organizational policies during calibration and testing activities.
Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams to ensure smooth calibration operations.
- Provide feedback on calibration processes and suggest potential improvements.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Solid understanding of mass measurement principles and devices, including standard weights, balances, and load cells.
- Proficiency in using calibration tools such as weight comparators, precision balances, and load testing systems.
- Familiarity with quality and calibration standards like ISO 17025 and OIML.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for identifying and resolving issues in mass measurement systems.
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy in calibration tasks.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Certification in mass calibration or metrology (e.g., ISO 17025 training) is advantageous.

- Performing calibration and maintenance of instruments used in avionics and flight control systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience in mass calibration or related fields.
