Job Title: Mass Calibration Engineer
Job Summary:
The Mass Calibration Engineer (Fresher) is responsible for assisting in the calibration, testing, and maintenance of mass measurement devices such as balances, weights, and load cells. This entry-level role focuses on developing foundational knowledge in mass calibration techniques, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and contributing to the accuracy and reliability of measurement systems under the guidance of senior engineers.
Key Responsibilities:
Calibration and Testing:
- Assist in the calibration of mass measurement devices, including analytical balances, standard weights, and load cells.
- Perform testing and verification of weights and balances using standard calibration equipment.
- Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure precision and consistency in calibration tasks.
Documentation:
- Record calibration results accurately and maintain detailed logs for compliance and future reference.
- Assist in preparing calibration certificates and reports under supervision.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Perform routine maintenance of calibration tools and equipment such as weight sets, precision balances, and load cells.
- Identify and report performance issues or abnormalities in mass measurement devices.
Compliance and Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols and organizational guidelines during calibration activities.
- Gain familiarity with relevant standards such as ISO 17025 and OIML guidelines for mass calibration.
Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with senior engineers and technicians to perform calibration tasks effectively.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance knowledge of mass calibration methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of mass measurement principles and devices, including balances, standard weights, and load cells.
- Familiarity with calibration tools and equipment such as weight sets and precision balances is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Basic troubleshooting skills to identify and address common issues in mass measurement systems.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Basic training or certification in mass calibration or metrology is a plus but not mandatory.

Avionics and Flight Control Systems
- Understanding basic calibration techniques for instruments used in avionics and flight control systems.
Safety and Emergency Systems for Aircraft
- Assisting in the calibration and testing of mass-related components in aircraft safety and emergency systems.

- Learning foundational calibration procedures for precision instruments in navigation, communication, and control systems.
Experience:
- No prior experience required; internships or academic projects related to mass measurement or calibration are beneficial.
Tools and Equipment:
- Basic calibration tools such as standard weights, precision balances, and weight comparators.
- Familiarity with calibration management software is an advantage.
