Job Title: Marine Instructor
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Marine Instructor to lead and oversee training programs in marine navigation, vessel operations, safety procedures, and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will develop advanced training curricula, mentor junior instructors, and ensure that training aligns with international maritime standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maritime operations, a strong instructional background, and a deep understanding of international maritime laws and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Training Delivery:
- Lead and conduct advanced classroom and practical training sessions on maritime operations, emergency procedures, navigation, and safety regulations.
- Utilize modern teaching techniques, including simulations, case studies, and hands-on exercises, to enhance learning outcomes.
- Provide specialized training for deck officers, marine engineers, and other maritime professionals.
Curriculum Development & Program Enhancement:
- Design and continuously update training programs to reflect technological advancements and regulatory changes.
- Develop instructional materials, assessments, and hands-on training exercises to meet industry standards.
- Evaluate and improve training effectiveness through feedback and performance assessments.
Regulatory Compliance & Safety Standards:
- Ensure that all training aligns with international maritime laws, including IMO, SOLAS, and STCW requirements.
- Conduct safety audits and ensure compliance with best practices in marine safety training.
- Promote a strong safety culture among trainees and instructors.
Mentorship & Instructor Development:
- Mentor and train junior and mid-level marine instructors to enhance their teaching effectiveness.
- Provide professional development and guidance to ensure instructional excellence.
- Evaluate instructor performance and recommend improvements in training delivery methods.
Operational & Equipment Oversight:
- Manage training facilities, simulators, and maritime training equipment to ensure optimal functionality.
- Ensure practical training exercises are conducted safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with maritime industry stakeholders to integrate real-world applications into training programs.
Industry Collaboration & Reporting:
- Stay updated on industry trends, new maritime technologies, and regulatory changes.
- Build relationships with shipping companies, regulatory bodies, and maritime institutions to enhance training programs.
- Prepare and present reports on training effectiveness, student performance, and program improvements to senior management.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- Marine instructor certification or relevant teaching qualification is required.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in maritime operations, marine training, or related fields.
- At least 5 years of experience as an instructor, preferably in a senior role.
- Extensive hands-on experience in ship operations, navigation, emergency response, and safety procedures.
Technical Expertise:
- Deep knowledge of vessel operations, marine engineering, and maritime regulatory frameworks.
- Proficiency in marine simulators, ship maneuvering techniques, and safety training equipment.
- Strong understanding of international maritime regulations, including STCW, SOLAS, and IMO standards.
