Job Title: Marine Instructor 

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated and passionate Marine Instructor at the fresher level to assist in delivering high-quality marine training programs for new cadets, sailors, and maritime professionals. As a Marine Instructor, you will be responsible for supporting training sessions related to marine safety, navigation, vessel operations, and other maritime skills. Your role will involve preparing instructional materials, guiding trainees, and ensuring they understand the necessary skills and protocols for safe and effective marine operations. You will work closely with experienced instructors and staff to gain hands-on knowledge in the maritime field while developing your teaching and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Support Training Delivery:

    • Assist senior instructors in the delivery of marine training courses, including safety protocols, navigation, vessel handling, maritime regulations, and emergency response.
    • Assist in preparing lesson plans and instructional materials based on the course curriculum and objectives.
    • Provide one-on-one assistance to trainees, answering questions and clarifying complex concepts.
    • Help in conducting practical training sessions, including simulations and on-the-water training, under the guidance of experienced instructors.
  2. Classroom Management:

    • Support the management of classroom environments, ensuring that training sessions are conducted in an orderly and productive manner.
    • Monitor trainee progress, providing feedback and assistance as needed during training sessions.
    • Help maintain training records, ensuring that all documentation for trainees is up-to-date and accurate.
  3. Practical Training Assistance:

    • Assist in the operation and maintenance of training equipment, simulators, and maritime vessels used during training sessions.
    • Observe and assist trainees in practical exercises, offering guidance on the correct execution of maritime tasks and operations.
    • Ensure trainees follow all safety protocols and procedures during practical training activities.
  4. Feedback and Improvement:

    • Assist in evaluating trainee performance during assessments and practical exercises, providing constructive feedback to improve performance.
    • Participate in post-training discussions with senior instructors to assess the effectiveness of training methods and materials.
    • Suggest improvements or updates to training methods, ensuring that the curriculum reflects the latest industry standards and practices.
  5. Health, Safety, and Compliance:

    • Ensure that all trainees adhere to safety protocols during both classroom and practical training sessions.
    • Monitor trainees' adherence to maritime safety and environmental regulations.
    • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training, helping to create realistic scenarios for trainees to practice.
  6. Continuous Learning:

    • Participate in professional development and ongoing learning opportunities to expand maritime knowledge and teaching skills.
    • Attend workshops, seminars, and other training sessions to stay updated on maritime trends, technologies, and industry standards.
    • Seek guidance from senior instructors to improve teaching techniques and ensure the delivery of effective, engaging training.

  2. Classroom and Practical Assistance:

    • Support classroom instruction and practical training exercises, ensuring that trainees receive the necessary guidance and support.

    • Ensure that all training activities are carried out in accordance with safety standards and regulations, maintaining a safe and compliant learning environment.
  4. Continuous Improvement and Development:

    • Seek opportunities for personal and professional development in the maritime training field, gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to grow as a marine instructor.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • A Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering, Nautical Science, or a related field. Alternatively, completion of a maritime cadet program is preferred.
    • Basic certifications related to marine safety (e.g., STCW, Basic Safety Training) are advantageous.
  2. Experience:

    • No prior professional teaching experience required, but exposure to maritime activities or internships in the maritime industry is a plus.
    • A genuine interest in maritime operations, safety, and training.
  3. Skills:

    • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and effectively.
    • Good organizational skills to assist in managing training materials, schedules, and records.
    • Basic knowledge of maritime regulations, safety procedures, and vessel operations.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and take guidance from senior instructors.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • STCW (Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping) certification or equivalent maritime safety training.
    • First Aid and CPR certification.
