Job Title: Marine Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist
Job Summary:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Marine Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will oversee and lead maintenance and repair operations for marine infrastructure, ensuring the safety, reliability, and longevity of structures such as docks, piers, seawalls, and other coastal facilities. You will work with a cross-functional team of engineers, technicians, and contractors, providing expert insights into marine infrastructure systems and leading complex maintenance projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of marine environment challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Marine Infrastructure Maintenance and Repair:
- Lead and oversee maintenance activities for marine infrastructure, including docks, piers, seawalls, breakwaters, and other coastal structures.
- Develop and implement effective maintenance programs to prevent deterioration and ensure longevity of marine assets.
- Conduct detailed assessments of infrastructure to identify signs of wear, corrosion, and other damage due to environmental exposure.
- Supervise repair work, ensuring it meets quality standards, safety protocols, and project timelines.
- Manage the safe and efficient execution of maintenance and repair tasks in challenging marine environments.
Project Management and Coordination:
- Lead large-scale maintenance projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource management.
- Coordinate and collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including engineers, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Ensure compliance with all marine safety regulations and environmental standards throughout the maintenance process.
- Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with marine infrastructure work, particularly in adverse weather conditions and challenging sea environments.
Condition Monitoring and Asset Management:
- Implement advanced condition monitoring techniques to assess the health of marine infrastructure.
- Utilize data-driven analysis and technology to optimize maintenance schedules, extend asset life, and reduce downtime.
- Develop and maintain asset management plans to track the condition of marine infrastructure and plan for long-term maintenance and replacement strategies.
Technical Expertise and Innovation:
- Provide expert advice on the design, construction, and maintenance of marine infrastructure projects.
- Stay updated on new technologies, tools, and materials relevant to marine infrastructure, and integrate them into maintenance practices.
- Lead the investigation and troubleshooting of complex issues related to marine structures, providing solutions to technical challenges.
Team Leadership and Development:
- Supervise, mentor, and guide junior engineers, technicians, and field personnel in maintaining marine infrastructure.
- Foster a collaborative, knowledge-sharing environment within the team to drive continuous improvement.
- Lead training initiatives to enhance the team’s technical expertise and ensure adherence to safety standards.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are conducted in accordance with industry regulations, environmental guidelines, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and performance reports.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports for senior management, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

- Oversee the maintenance and repair of key components, including foundations, piles, fenders, and deck surfaces.
Environmental and Safety Compliance:
- Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of marine facilities while adhering to environmental regulations and industry safety standards.
- Develop and implement strategies to minimize environmental impact during maintenance activities.
Innovative Maintenance Solutions:
- Investigate and recommend new technologies, materials, and methods for enhancing the durability and performance of marine infrastructure.
- Optimize maintenance strategies through predictive maintenance and advanced diagnostic tools.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
- Additional certifications or specialized training in marine structures or coastal engineering is a plus.
Experience:
- Minimum 7-10 years of hands-on experience in marine infrastructure maintenance, repair, and project management.
- Proven track record in leading complex maintenance projects for marine structures, including piers, seawalls, breakwaters, and docks.
- Experience with asset management and condition monitoring for marine infrastructure, utilizing advanced technology to optimize operations and reduce downtime.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards in the marine environment.
Technical Skills:
- Extensive experience in marine infrastructure design, maintenance, and repair, with a focus on the durability of materials in marine environments.
- Strong understanding of marine construction techniques, corrosion management, and asset life-cycle management.
- Proficient in the use of engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or specialized marine infrastructure modeling tools).
- Familiarity with marine surveying and condition assessment tools (e.g., underwater robotics, sonar systems, corrosion monitoring).
