Job Title: Marine Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Marine Infrastructure Maintenance Specialist to oversee the inspection, repair, and upkeep of marine infrastructure, including ports, harbors, offshore platforms, docks, and coastal structures. This role involves coordinating maintenance projects, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and optimizing infrastructure longevity through proactive maintenance and repair strategies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in marine civil works, mechanical and structural maintenance, and asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
Infrastructure Inspection & Maintenance:
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of marine structures to identify structural weaknesses, corrosion, or mechanical failures.
- Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance of piers, jetties, bridges, and floating structures.
- Assist in managing underwater and above-water inspections using diving teams, drones, and sonar technology.
Repair & Project Coordination:
- Supervise and execute repair projects, including concrete reinforcement, corrosion control, welding, and mechanical overhauls.
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and marine operations teams to ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
- Manage routine dredging, shoreline protection, and coastal reinforcement projects as needed.
Safety & Compliance Oversight:
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with marine safety regulations, environmental laws, and international maritime standards.
- Implement safety procedures for working in confined spaces, handling hazardous materials, and preventing spills or contamination.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop emergency response plans for infrastructure-related incidents.
Equipment & Asset Management:
- Maintain marine maintenance equipment, including heavy machinery, lifting gear, and specialized tools.
- Track spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available for repairs.
- Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to predict failures and optimize maintenance schedules.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare and maintain inspection reports, maintenance logs, and project progress documentation.
- Provide technical recommendations to senior management regarding infrastructure improvements and cost-effective repair solutions.
- Assist in budgeting and resource planning for ongoing and future maintenance projects.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Certifications in marine safety, welding, diving, or corrosion control (preferred).
Experience:
- 3-7 years of experience in marine infrastructure maintenance, civil engineering, or related fields.
- Proven experience in managing maintenance projects for ports, docks, offshore facilities, or maritime structures.
Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of marine structural integrity, corrosion prevention, and repair methodologies.
- Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical repairs, welding, and mechanical maintenance.
- Familiarity with underwater inspections, sonar technology, and non-destructive testing (NDT) techniques.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills for addressing maintenance challenges.
- Ability to work in demanding marine environments, including offshore and remote locations.
- Effective team leadership and communication skills to coordinate with contractors and engineers.
- Knowledge of marine safety protocols and international maritime regulations.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
- Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET)
- Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) or Corrosion Control Certification
- Confined Space Entry Certification
- Commercial Diving Certification (if applicable)
