Job Title: Junior Marine Engineer
Job Summary:
We are looking for a motivated and technically proficient Junior Marine Engineer to join our team. Key Responsibilities:
Design and Engineering Support:
- Assist in the design and development of marine systems, including propulsion, electrical, and HVAC systems for ships, offshore platforms, and other marine structures.
- Help prepare technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation for new systems and modifications using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
- Assist senior engineers in evaluating and selecting materials and components for marine applications based on technical specifications, performance requirements, and regulatory standards.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting:
- Support the maintenance and repair of marine systems and equipment, including engines, generators, pumps, and other machinery aboard vessels and offshore platforms.
- Assist in troubleshooting technical issues, diagnosing faults, and helping implement corrective actions to ensure systems run smoothly.
- Perform regular inspections of marine equipment to identify wear and tear or potential malfunctions.
Operational Support:
- Assist in the planning and execution of routine and emergency maintenance activities aboard vessels or marine facilities, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Collaborate with senior engineers to ensure compliance with safety standards and operational efficiency during vessel and equipment operations.
- Help support operational processes by ensuring marine systems and machinery are fully operational and meet the expected performance standards.
Testing and Quality Assurance:
- Assist in testing marine systems, engines, and equipment to ensure they meet operational requirements, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines.
- Perform basic inspections and tests on newly installed systems or repaired components to ensure they are functioning correctly.
- Document and record test results, ensuring that any performance deviations are reported and addressed.
Project Support:
- Participate in ongoing marine engineering projects, assisting senior engineers with data collection, research, and technical analysis.
- Prepare reports, technical documents, and presentations to support the decision-making process and provide updates on the status of engineering projects.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously develop your knowledge and skills in marine engineering by learning from senior engineers and other professionals.
- Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in marine engineering, systems design, and maintenance.
- Participate in training programs, workshops, and industry certifications to further your professional development.

Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, or a related field.
- Any relevant internships or academic projects related to marine engineering are a plus.
Experience:
- 0-2 years of experience in marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
- Internship experience or academic projects focused on marine systems, vessel operations, or offshore platforms are highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience or knowledge of marine systems such as engines, propulsion, HVAC, and electrical systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of marine systems, mechanical engineering principles, and the operation of marine machinery.
- Familiarity with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus but not required.
- Understanding of marine equipment, including propulsion systems, electrical systems, engines, and pumps.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
