Job Title: Marine Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Marine Engineer – Fresher to join our dynamic team. As a new graduate or entry-level marine engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in the maintenance, operation, and repair of marine vessels and their systems. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will learn and develop your skills in marine engineering, contributing to the smooth functioning and safety of our marine operations. This role offers excellent opportunities for career growth and skill development in the maritime industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assisting with Vessel Maintenance:

    • Support the maintenance and repair of marine vessels and their associated systems, including engines, propulsion, electrical systems, and auxiliary equipment.
    • Assist in the regular inspection of vessels, identifying wear, damage, or areas requiring maintenance.
    • Help perform routine checks and preventive maintenance on marine systems and equipment under the supervision of senior engineers.
  2. Learning and Development:

    • Participate in training sessions and workshops to develop technical knowledge and hands-on skills in marine engineering.
    • Learn to diagnose issues in marine machinery, engines, and electrical systems, and work under the guidance of senior engineers to develop solutions.
    • Stay updated on industry standards, maritime regulations, and new technologies in marine engineering.
  3. Technical Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Assist in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and operational issues in marine vessels and equipment.
    • Help identify problems, document findings, and assist senior engineers in the repair or replacement of defective parts.
    • Learn to use diagnostic tools and systems to detect malfunctions or inefficiencies in machinery and systems.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Assist in preparing reports on maintenance and repair activities, documenting work completed, parts used, and any issues identified.
    • Maintain records of inspections, repairs, and routine maintenance activities for future reference and compliance.
    • Help ensure that all work complies with maritime safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Support the team in ensuring that all engineering operations follow safety protocols and comply with environmental and maritime regulations.
    • Adhere to workplace safety standards, wearing the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring safe working conditions.
    • Participate in safety drills, ensuring readiness for emergency situations and compliance with all relevant safety guidelines.
  6. Team Collaboration:

    • Work alongside senior engineers, other team members, and operational staff to ensure the smooth operation of marine equipment.
    • Participate in team meetings to discuss ongoing projects, equipment status, and maintenance schedules.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

    • Assist with maintaining, repairing, and operating marine vessels and equipment, learning under the supervision of experienced engineers.
  2. Technical Skill Development:

    • Learn to identify, diagnose, and resolve issues with marine machinery, engines, and systems.
  3. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to safety standards and maritime regulations during all engineering activities.
  4. Continuous Learning:

    • Take advantage of training opportunities to expand your knowledge and skills in marine engineering, particularly in areas such as troubleshooting, diagnostics, and vessel systems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • A strong academic background in marine systems, mechanical systems, electrical systems, and marine operations is preferred.
  2. Experience:

    • No professional experience is required; however, any internships, academic projects, or practical exposure to marine engineering or operations would be advantageous.
    • A passion for working with marine systems, machinery, and vessels is essential.
  3. Skills:

    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
    • Basic understanding of marine engineering principles and the operation of marine machinery.
    • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to document technical issues and repairs accurately.
  4. Certifications (Preferred):

    • STCW Basic Safety Training (or equivalent) is advantageous but not required.
    • First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus.
    • Any relevant certifications in marine engineering or mechanical systems would be beneficial.
