Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer (Mechanical Focus)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Manufacturing Engineer with a Mechanical Focus to join our team. As a junior engineer, you will support the manufacturing team by assisting with process improvements, equipment optimization, product design analysis, and quality assurance. Under the guidance of senior engineers, you will work on projects aimed at improving production efficiency, reducing costs, and ensuring high product quality. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Process Improvement and Support:

    • Assist in identifying areas for improvement in the manufacturing process to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Support process optimization efforts by collecting data, analyzing production flow, and recommending changes to enhance productivity.
    • Help implement process changes and monitor their effectiveness in improving production outcomes.
  2. Design for Manufacturability (DFM):

    • Collaborate with the design team to review product designs and provide feedback on manufacturability and cost-effectiveness.
    • Assist in ensuring that products are designed in a way that allows for efficient manufacturing, minimizing waste, and maximizing quality.
    • Help translate product designs into manufacturable processes that align with production capabilities.
  3. Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Support the implementation and maintenance of quality control procedures to ensure that products meet customer specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct quality checks and assist in inspecting products during various stages of production.
    • Troubleshoot quality issues and collaborate with the quality team to develop corrective actions.
  4. Machine and Equipment Support:

    • Assist in the setup, calibration, and adjustment of machines and equipment used in the production process.
    • Learn to monitor machine performance and help optimize machine settings for maximum efficiency.
    • Support machine maintenance efforts by helping with preventive maintenance and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues.
  5. Data Collection and Reporting:

    • Gather production data, analyze trends, and prepare reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as machine uptime, production rates, and product quality.
    • Assist in documenting process changes, quality audits, and maintenance activities for future reference and continuous improvement.
    • Prepare and maintain accurate records of engineering projects, including design revisions and production feedback.
  6. Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:

    • Work closely with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to ensure that engineering solutions align with operational needs and production goals.
    • Communicate effectively with team members to ensure alignment on project objectives, timelines, and priorities.
    • Assist in the planning and execution of engineering projects aimed at improving manufacturing processes.
  7. Learning and Skill Development:

    • Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills in manufacturing processes, machine operation, and mechanical design.
    • Take on new responsibilities as you gain experience, including more complex process analysis and equipment optimization tasks.

    • Assist in identifying inefficiencies in the manufacturing process and support the implementation of solutions to improve throughput and reduce costs.
  2. Quality Control and Assurance:

    • Ensure product quality by supporting the implementation of quality control processes and conducting regular inspections.
  3. Machine and Equipment Support:

    • Help ensure that production equipment operates efficiently by assisting with setup, calibration, and preventive maintenance.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Work collaboratively with different teams (design, production, maintenance) to ensure smooth project execution and problem resolution.
  5. Learning and Development:

    • Continuously learn from senior engineers, improving technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and process improvement skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
    • Recent graduates or individuals with 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering are encouraged to apply.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, production processes, and quality control procedures.
    • Familiarity with CAD software and other engineering tools is a plus but not required.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to drive improvements in production processes.
  3. Soft Skills:

    • Strong communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
    • Attention to detail and the ability to identify process improvements.
    • A proactive attitude toward learning and problem-solving.
    • Ability to work in a team environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  4. Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):

    • Any certifications in manufacturing processes, Lean manufacturing, or quality control would be a plus.
    • Knowledge of safety procedures and certifications (e.g., OSHA) would be beneficial.
