Job Title: Machinery Maintenance
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Machinery Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance team and ensure the efficient operation of all machinery and equipment within our manufacturing facility. In this leadership role, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance, repair, and optimization of machinery, developing maintenance strategies, and driving continuous improvement in machine reliability. You will also be responsible for managing a team of mechanics, allocating resources effectively, and ensuring that maintenance operations are performed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards. This is a senior-level role with a focus on leadership, technical expertise, and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:
- Lead, manage, and develop a team of machinery mechanics, technicians, and maintenance staff, ensuring high levels of productivity, skill development, and motivation.
- Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify training needs to help team members grow in their roles.
- Oversee daily maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are prioritized and completed in a timely manner.
- Foster a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.
Maintenance Strategy and Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance strategies to ensure machinery reliability and minimize downtime.
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance, reduce wear and tear, and prevent unexpected breakdowns.
- Monitor machine performance and coordinate the repair or replacement of parts as needed.
- Oversee the development and implementation of maintenance standards, procedures, and policies.
Budgeting and Resource Allocation:
- Develop and manage the machinery maintenance budget, ensuring resources are used efficiently and within budget constraints.
- Oversee the procurement of spare parts, tools, and equipment needed for machine maintenance and repairs.
- Optimize the use of maintenance resources to minimize downtime and improve cost-efficiency.
- Ensure proper inventory management of spare parts and tools to ensure the availability of necessary components for maintenance.
Troubleshooting and Problem Resolution:
- Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex machinery issues, ensuring that problems are resolved quickly and effectively to minimize production disruptions.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the maintenance team when dealing with complex mechanical problems.
- Work with the production and engineering teams to address production-related maintenance issues and implement solutions that prevent recurrence.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with safety regulations and company policies, promoting a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and safety training sessions to mitigate potential hazards.
- Ensure that all machinery maintenance is performed in compliance with industry standards, regulations, and environmental guidelines.
Continuous Improvement and Performance Monitoring:
- Continuously assess and improve maintenance processes, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce downtime, and improve machine performance.
- Implement and lead continuous improvement initiatives, using techniques such as root cause analysis, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma to optimize maintenance practices.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to machinery uptime, maintenance costs, and team performance.
Collaboration and Reporting:
- Work closely with production, engineering, and quality control teams to ensure that machine maintenance aligns with production schedules and quality standards.
- Provide regular updates and reports to senior management regarding maintenance activities, performance metrics, and the status of machinery.
- Communicate effectively with senior management to discuss operational challenges, propose solutions, and track progress.
Equipment and Technology Management:
- Stay current with industry trends and technological advancements in machinery and equipment maintenance.
- Ensure the proper use and maintenance of tools and diagnostic equipment used by the maintenance team.
- Evaluate and recommend new equipment, technologies, and maintenance practices to improve machinery efficiency and extend the lifespan of equipment.

- Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in a safe and compliant manner, meeting all regulatory requirements and company safety standards.
Cost Control and Resource Allocation:
- Optimize resource use, manage the maintenance budget, and ensure that maintenance activities are completed efficiently while minimizing costs.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in machinery maintenance or industrial maintenance management, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial role.
Technical Skills:
- In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems, machinery, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance strategies and programs.
- Expertise in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance management software (CMMS) and inventory management systems.
Leadership and Management Skills:
- Proven leadership and team management experience, with the ability to motivate, guide, and develop a team of technicians and mechanics.
- Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze issues and implement effective solutions.
Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, senior management, and other departments.

Certifications (Preferred):
- Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or similar process improvement certifications.
- Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM), Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE), or other relevant certifications are a plus.
- OSHA or other safety certifications are beneficial.
