Job Title:  Machinery Mechanic

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Junior Machinery Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will assist with the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of various mechanical systems and machinery in our facility. As a junior mechanic, you will work under the supervision of senior mechanics, learning to handle mechanical issues, improve equipment reliability, and help ensure smooth production operations. Key Responsibilities:

1. Machine Maintenance and Repair:

   • Assist in routine maintenance and repairs on machinery, including motors, pumps, conveyors, and other production equipment.
   • Help troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues under the supervision of senior mechanics.
   • Replace parts, including bearings, belts, and seals, and ensure all machinery is operating properly.

2. Routine Inspections and Testing:

   • Conduct basic inspections of machinery, checking for wear and tear or signs of malfunction.
   • Support the team in carrying out functional and safety tests on equipment to ensure that everything is working according to specifications.
   • Monitor equipment performance and assist in identifying opportunities for preventive maintenance.

3. Assisting with Equipment Setup:

   • Assist in setting up machinery for production runs, ensuring that the machines are configured to meet production requirements.
   • Learn how to adjust machine settings and parameters to optimize efficiency and product quality.

4. Safety and Compliance:

   • Follow safety guidelines and ensure that all tasks are performed in a safe manner.
   • Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required during maintenance tasks.
   • Report any safety hazards or concerns to senior team members or supervisors.

5. Collaboration with the Maintenance Team:

   • Work alongside senior mechanics and maintenance staff to learn best practices and develop troubleshooting skills.
   • Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure that machine malfunctions or maintenance tasks are addressed promptly.
   • Participate in team meetings to discuss the status of machines, upcoming maintenance schedules, and potential improvements.

6. Documentation and Reporting:

   • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs completed, and machinery inspections.
   • Help complete maintenance logs and ensure they are up-to-date.
   • Report on machine status, breakdowns, and other key information to supervisors for further analysis.

7. Learning and Skill Development:

   • Participate in training sessions and hands-on learning opportunities to build your knowledge of machinery and maintenance techniques.
   • Learn to use specialized maintenance tools and equipment.
   • Take on additional responsibilities as you gain experience, including more complex troubleshooting and machine maintenance tasks.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Educational Requirements:

   • High school diploma or equivalent required; a technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
   • Entry-level candidates with 1-2 years of experience are encouraged to apply.

2. Technical Skills:

   • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and their components.
   • Willingness to learn about machinery maintenance, repair techniques, and troubleshooting methods.
   • Ability to use hand tools and basic diagnostic equipment.

3. Soft Skills:
