The Logistics Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of logistics activities related to the handling, transportation, and delivery of engineered equipment such as valves, rotating machinery, pressure vessels, and skids. This role ensures timely, safe, and cost-effective delivery while maintaining compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
Develop and implement logistics strategies for the efficient movement of engineered equipment from suppliers to storage yards, project sites, and end-users.
Coordinate multimodal transportation including road, sea, air, and rail to optimize delivery timelines and costs.
Manage route planning, customs clearance, permits, and regulatory documentation.
Ensure proper handling, lifting, and packaging procedures are followed to protect engineered equipment from damage during transit and storage.
Collaborate with engineering and QA teams to specify packaging and lifting requirements for complex or sensitive equipment.
Oversee loading and unloading operations at warehouses, ports, and sites.
Liaise with warehouse and inventory managers to synchronize logistics operations with stock availability and dispatch schedules.
Monitor equipment storage conditions and manage stock rotation and preservation practices as required.
Monitor logistics KPIs including delivery timelines, freight costs, damage incidents, and compliance with safety protocols.
Identify risks related to transport delays, customs issues, and equipment damage; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize logistics processes and reduce costs.
Lead and develop a team of logistics coordinators, transport supervisors, and subcontractors.
Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, project managers, and regulatory bodies.
Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics-related issues and escalations.
Bachelorโs degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (Preferred)
8+ yearsโ experience in logistics operations managing transportation and handling of engineered equipment, preferably in industrial or EPC environments.
Proven experience with multimodal transport, customs processes, and complex equipment logistics.
Expertise in logistics planning and execution for engineered equipment
