A Light Pickup Driver is responsible for safely operating a light pickup vehicle to transport goods, tools, materials, and/or personnel between locations. The role includes timely deliveries, basic vehicle checks, route planning, and maintaining accurate delivery documentation while following traffic laws and company safety procedures.
Drive a light pickup to deliver and collect materials, spare parts, documents, and tools as assigned.
Plan routes to meet delivery schedules and reduce fuel/time costs.
Load/unload items safely; secure cargo to prevent damage during transit.
Perform daily vehicle checks: tires, lights, brakes, fluids, mirrors, and cleanliness.
Ensure valid vehicle registration, insurance, and required permits are maintained in the vehicle.
Maintain delivery records: delivery notes, signatures, times, and mileage logs.
Support warehouse/yard activities when not driving (packing, labeling, basic stock handling) if required.
Report accidents, traffic violations, vehicle defects, or maintenance needs immediately.
Follow company HSE rules (seat belts, speed limits, no phone use while driving, safe parking).
Maintain professional conduct with clients, suppliers, and site teams.
Safe, defensive driving habits and strong knowledge of local roads/routes.
Ability to follow instructions, manage time, and handle urgent runs calmly.
Basic skills in using delivery paperwork (and GPS/mobile apps if required).
Good communication and customer-service attitude.
Ability to lift and carry moderate loads (as required by the job).
Valid driving license for light vehicles (as required by local regulations).
Clean driving record preferred.
1+ year experience in delivery/driving roles preferred (adjust based on level).
Basic literacy for reading delivery instructions and completing forms.
