As a Senior Level Designer, you will lead the design and implementation of complex, high-impact game levels and environments. You will play a critical role in shaping player experiences, mentoring junior designers, and ensuring alignment with the game’s overall creative vision and gameplay goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Own and craft large-scale, multi-path levels featuring advanced gameplay mechanics, pacing, and narrative elements.
Define level objectives, key player moments, and environmental storytelling in harmony with overall game design.
Mentor and guide junior and mid-level designers through regular reviews and feedback sessions.
Collaborate closely with production teams to scope, schedule, and prioritize level design tasks and milestones.
Drive continuous improvement by developing design pipelines, tools, and best practices.
Analyze player feedback, telemetry, and playtest data to iterate and optimize levels for engagement and balance.
5–8 years of professional experience with multiple shipped titles, preferably AAA or major indie projects.
Expertise in level pacing, gameplay loops, and environmental storytelling techniques.
Proven leadership and mentorship skills with experience managing design workflows.
Strong analytical skills to evaluate player data and implement iterative design improvements.
Advanced technical proficiency with game engines and scripting systems.
Game Engines: Unreal Engine (Blueprints, World Partition), Unity (ProBuilder, C# scripting)
Scripting & Tools: Blueprint scripting, C#, Lua, or Python for event scripting and gameplay logic
Version Control: Perforce, Git
Design & Documentation: Photoshop, Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence
Soft & Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of spatial design, player navigation, and pacing
Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
Effective mentorship and team leadership
Data-driven iterative design based on telemetry and player behavior
Excellent communication and cross-team collaboration skills
