Execute softscape and minor hardscape works—soil preparation, planting, turfing, mulching, irrigation installation, and garden maintenance—to deliver a durable, water-efficient, and tidy landscape that meets drawings/specifications and authority expectations for a Category-3 G+3 project in Sharjah.
Read landscape drawings, planting schedules, and irrigation layouts; mark plant locations to approved spacings and sightlines.
Prepare ground: stripping, grading to falls away from buildings, decompaction, soil mixing, and installing drainage layers in planters.
Verify waterproofing integrity at planters/terraces before placing soils; protect weep holes and overflows.
Test and condition soils (texture, EC/salinity, pH) as instructed; blend compost/sand/gypsum to specification.
Excavate planting pits to approved sizes; set root balls at finished level; backfill/firm; form watering basins.
Install stakes/ties (2–3 per tree) with protectors; fit root barriers near pavements/services where detailed.
Lay turf rolls tight to seams on level, moist soil; roll/soak; or install artificial turf per detail (base, geotextile, infill).
Spread mulch (50–75 mm typical) for moisture retention and weed suppression; keep clear of stems.
Lay and connect drip lines/bubblers/micro-sprays, laterals and control valves; install filters/PRVs/flush points per drawings.
Pressure test, flush, and commission lateral lines; set preliminary controller schedules (seasonal/zone based).
Install valve boxes at grade, clean, and labeled; ensure emitters deliver specified L/h to each plant group.
Install edging/stone/gravel neatly with geotextile where specified; keep pavements and façades clean.
Protect completed beds with fencing/tape and signage; maintain no-traffic windows until establishment.
Present works for WIR inspections; maintain area tallies, delivery/batch tickets, plant lists (species/size/origin).
Record irrigation pressure/flow readings, controller settings, and as-built locations of valves/lines.
Keep photo records before covering works (planters, drip lines).
Implement daily/weekly watering, especially during establishment; adjust for season.
Prune for form and clearance; remove suckers; re-stake/retie as needed.
Monitor pests/diseases; apply approved treatments; fertilize per schedule; replace failures promptly.
Keep beds weed-free; top up mulch/gravel; keep drains/overflows clear.
Use PPE; safe manual handling of trees/rolls; blade guards and water suppression for cutting; electrical LOTO near pumps/lighting.
Chemical handling per MSDS (fertilizers, pesticides); control access around operating machinery and near live traffic.
Heat & Humidity:
Work heavy planting/turfing early morning/evening; comply with the MOHRE summer midday break.
Prioritize drought-tolerant species; apply mulch and soil wetting agents; schedule deep, less-frequent irrigation to reduce evapotranspiration.
Shade plants/rolls before installation; avoid planting onto super-heated soils; expect faster drying—water immediately after planting.
Dust/Sand:
Protect young foliage; rinse emitters/filters; cover soil/mulch stockpiles; keep drip lines clean during installation.
Occasional Rain/Flash Water:
Maintain positive falls; provide swales/overflows; re-check levels after storms; secure mulch against wash-off.
Traffic & Access:
Plan off-peak deliveries of trees/soil/turf; use banksmen and flagged pedestrian routes; if curbside lifting affects roads, arrange SRTA/Police permits.
Keep fire/ambulance access clear; protect paving and façades during movement of materials.
3–5+ years landscape installation/maintenance (UAE/GCC preferred).
Knowledge of arid-climate planting, soils/salinity management, and drip irrigation basics.
Able to read planting/irrigation drawings and follow QA/HSE procedures.
Basic English for coordination (Arabic/Urdu/Hindi an advantage).
Shovels/rakes/hoes, wheelbarrows, turf cutters/rollers, pruning saws/secateurs, staking kits/ties, hose & nozzles, drip line punchers/press tools, pressure gauge/flow cup, moisture meter, backpack sprayer (as permitted), plate compactor (for base layers), geotextile, safety barriers & signage, PPE.
Neat planting & level/grade control
Efficient water-wise irrigation installation and tuning
Soil improvement & salinity awareness
Housekeeping and protection of finished areas
Reliable records (plant lists, irrigation settings, as-builts)
≥95% plant survival at handover; ≥90–95% after DLP (per contract).
Irrigation tested leak-free; zones deliver design flow/coverage.
Beds/paving clean, drains free, no ponding after irrigation/rain.
Snags closed within SLA; minimal replacements after first month.
Zero major HSE incidents; midday break compliance.
