The Junior Land Surveyor supports surveying activities by assisting in field measurements, data collection, and documentation of land features for construction and engineering projects. This entry-level role works under the guidance of senior surveyors to ensure accurate site layout, boundary marking, and elevation checks, contributing to the precise execution of construction plans.
Assist in conducting topographic, boundary, and construction layout surveys.
Operate basic surveying instruments such as total stations, GPS, and levels under supervision.
Record survey measurements and assist in preparing sketches, maps, and reports.
Help set out reference points and markers for construction activities.
Support in verifying measurements and checking levels, alignments, and elevations.
Maintain and organize survey equipment and ensure proper field data handling.
Collaborate with engineers and site supervisors to provide accurate measurements.
Follow all safety protocols during site work.
Diploma or Associate Degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
0–2 years of experience in land surveying or construction layout (internship experience acceptable).
Basic knowledge of surveying principles and equipment.
Familiarity with surveying software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar) is a plus.
Good understanding of site safety and construction site operations.
Attention to detail and strong observation skills.
Willingness to learn and take direction from senior professionals.
Physical ability to work outdoors in various site conditions.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
