Job Title: Lab Management 

Job Summary:
The Junior Lab Management will assist in the calibration, maintenance, and testing of medical devices and patient monitoring equipment. This role provides an excellent opportunity to learn and develop skills in ensuring medical devices operate safely and efficiently. The Junior Technician will assist senior technicians and lab management in adhering to regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) and maintaining high-quality lab operations.

Key Focus Areas:

  1. Medical Device Control Systems:

    • Assist in calibrating and testing medical device control systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards.
    • Support troubleshooting efforts to identify issues with medical device control systems and assist in resolving them.
  2. Patient Monitoring Equipment:

    • Support the maintenance and calibration of patient monitoring equipment like ECG, blood pressure monitors, and pulse oximeters.
    • Help verify that equipment functions accurately and meets safety standards for patient use.
  3. Regulatory Compliance (FDA, ISO standards):

    • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards such as FDA and ISO, assisting with documentation and procedures for audits and inspections.
    • Learn to apply industry regulations to testing and maintenance activities in the lab.
  4. Calibration and Maintenance of Medical Equipment:

    • Assist in the calibration and preventive maintenance of medical equipment to ensure their accuracy and reliability.
    • Support the documentation of maintenance logs, calibration records, and equipment performance checks.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Assistance:

  • Assist senior technicians with the setup, calibration, and testing of medical devices and patient monitoring equipment.
  • Support routine maintenance tasks to ensure the lab’s equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Learn and apply standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all calibration and testing activities.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Help maintain accurate records of all calibration, testing, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist in preparing reports for internal and regulatory audits.
  • Keep track of equipment certifications and maintenance schedules to ensure compliance.

Compliance Support:

  • Follow regulatory guidelines to ensure all lab processes and equipment meet required FDA and ISO standards.
  • Assist in preparing equipment and processes for regulatory audits or inspections.
  • Ensure documentation is up-to-date and complies with industry regulations.

Team Collaboration and Learning:

  • Collaborate with senior team members to troubleshoot and maintain medical devices.
  • Participate in training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge in medical device testing, calibration, and maintenance.
  • Provide support for lab operations, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Basic understanding of medical device technologies, including patient monitoring equipment and control systems.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory environment, including FDA and ISO standards (training will be provided).
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
  • Ability to follow instructions and operate lab equipment under supervision.
  • Excellent organizational skills to maintain documentation and manage calibration schedules.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).
  • A certificate or degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Device Technology, Electronics, or related fields is a plus.

Experience:

  • No prior professional experience required.
  • Internships, academic projects, or hands-on experience in lab environments related to medical equipment or electronics is beneficial but not mandatory.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Exposure to calibration tools and medical device testing equipment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment like oscilloscopes, multimeters, and patient monitoring devices is helpful.

  • Ability to work in a team environment and follow safety protocols.
  • Strong communication skills to report issues and assist senior staff.
