Job Description: (Lab Management)
Job Summary:
The Fresher (Lab Management) will assist in the daily operations of the lab, ensuring smooth processes and the functionality of lab equipment. This role focuses on supporting equipment calibration and maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO), and assisting in quality control procedures. The Lab Technician will also support the management of lab resources, team supervision, and staff training, gaining hands-on experience in laboratory operations and management.
Key Focus Areas:
Laboratory Operations:
- Assist in day-to-day lab operations, ensuring that all processes are running efficiently and according to schedule.
- Help manage inventory, maintain lab cleanliness, and assist in maintaining proper documentation for experiments and procedures.
Equipment Calibration and Maintenance:
- Support calibration and maintenance of lab equipment to ensure accurate measurements and reliability.
- Assist with troubleshooting and resolving issues with lab equipment, minimizing downtime.
Regulatory Compliance (FDA, ISO standards):
- Ensure that all lab activities adhere to regulatory standards and maintain proper documentation for audits and inspections.
- Assist in preparing the lab for inspections by regulatory bodies and help maintain compliance with industry standards.
Quality Control:
- Assist in implementing quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and consistency of lab results.
- Learn how to monitor lab processes and document results in accordance with quality standards.
Team Supervision and Training:
- Assist in supervising lab staff and providing support to ensure tasks are completed efficiently.
- Help with training new staff on lab equipment, safety procedures, and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
Laboratory Operations:
- Support the setup and execution of lab experiments, maintaining proper scheduling and task allocation.
- Assist in managing lab supplies and ensuring all resources are readily available for testing or experiments.
- Maintain accurate records of lab activities, equipment usage, and experimental data.
Equipment Calibration and Maintenance:
- Perform routine calibration of lab instruments to ensure they function correctly.
- Maintain a preventive maintenance schedule to ensure lab equipment is serviced regularly.
- Learn to troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and support engineers in repairing or replacing faulty equipment.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that all lab activities comply with regulatory guidelines, including FDA and ISO standards.
- Help prepare for audits by maintaining records of equipment calibration, maintenance logs, and lab activity reports.
- Assist in ensuring that lab procedures and protocols align with regulatory requirements.
Quality Control:
- Assist in the implementation of quality control systems, ensuring lab results are consistent and accurate.
- Conduct routine checks on lab results and processes to ensure they meet established standards.
- Document any deviations in processes and assist in corrective actions to ensure reliability in results.
Team Supervision and Training:
- Assist in managing day-to-day lab activities, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Support senior technicians and lab managers in training new staff on equipment use, safety procedures, and lab protocols.
- Provide assistance in managing the lab team to ensure effective collaboration and productivity.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of laboratory operations and equipment management.
- Willingness to learn about regulatory standards (FDA, ISO) and quality assurance in laboratory settings.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills for managing lab resources and maintaining records.
- Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and report issues.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and ensure a safe work environment.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.
- Any certifications or training related to laboratory management or safety standards is a plus but not required.
Experience:
- No prior professional experience required.
- Internships or academic projects related to laboratory management or operations are advantageous.
