Roles & Responsibilities

The Senior Inventory Control Technician leads inventory management activities for rotating equipment parts, such as turbines, compressors, and auxiliary components. This role ensures inventory accuracy, optimal bin management, and efficient material flow to support maintenance operations and capital projects. The position also mentors junior staff and collaborates with cross-functional teams to enhance inventory processes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Inventory Accuracy & Control

  • Maintain and verify precise inventory records for rotating equipment parts within ERP/WMS platforms.

  • Lead regular cycle counts, physical inventories, and audit activities to identify and resolve discrepancies.

2. Bin Management & Storage Optimization

  • Oversee bin allocation, labeling, and storage methods to maximize space utilization and accessibility.

  • Ensure proper handling and preservation of sensitive turbine components in compliance with manufacturer and industry standards.

3. Coordination & Communication

  • Collaborate with procurement, maintenance, logistics, and project teams to ensure timely availability of critical parts.

  • Provide accurate inventory status updates, forecasts, and reporting to management and stakeholders.

4. Process Improvement & Training

  • Identify and implement improvements in inventory control procedures, material handling, and bin management.

  • Train and mentor junior inventory technicians to promote best practices and operational excellence.

5. Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure all inventory operations adhere to safety regulations, company policies, and quality standards.

  • Participate in safety audits and lead corrective actions related to inventory handling.

  • Leadership in inventory control and bin management for high-value rotating equipment parts

  • Ensuring accuracy and integrity of inventory data for maintenance and capital projects

  • Storage optimization and preservation of critical turbine components

  • Cross-functional coordination and reporting on inventory status and requirements

Qualifications:

  • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field

  • Experience: 7+ years in inventory control or warehouse management, preferably with rotating equipment or industrial spares

  • Skills:

    • Advanced proficiency with ERP/WMS (SAP, Oracle, etc.)

    • Strong organizational, leadership, and analytical skills

    • Knowledge of rotating equipment parts, preservation, and storage requirements

    • Excellent communication and team management capabilities
