The Inventory Control Engineer (Mid-Level) is responsible for managing the comprehensive tracking and lifecycle management of valves and associated spare parts. This role ensures optimal inventory levels, improves lifecycle visibility, and supports maintenance and operations teams with timely availability of critical mechanical components. The engineer will also lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, reduce downtime, and optimize spare parts logistics.
Lead the maintenance of accurate valve inventory records, including specifications, quantities, locations, and usage history.
Analyze inventory data to identify trends, slow-moving items, and potential stock imbalances.
Develop and implement inventory control policies, reorder points, and safety stock levels aligned with operational requirements.
Monitor valve lifecycle stages and coordinate replacement strategies in collaboration with maintenance and reliability teams.
Manage spare parts forecasting, procurement planning, and warranty tracking to minimize downtime risks.
Prepare and oversee the issuance of valve spare kits and assemblies for preventive and corrective maintenance.
Collaborate with maintenance engineers, procurement specialists, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless flow of valve spares and inventory accuracy.
Lead inventory audits, physical verifications, and reconciliation exercises to maintain data integrity.
Drive continuous improvement projects aimed at optimizing inventory turnover, reducing obsolescence, and improving storage conditions.
Utilize ERP (SAP, Oracle) and CMMS (Maximo, Infor EAM) systems to maintain valve inventory and maintenance data.
Generate regular and ad hoc reports on inventory status, lifecycle alerts, spare parts consumption, and cost impacts.
Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions for inventory discrepancies or supply issues.
Bachelorโs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline (Required)
3โ7 yearsโ experience in inventory control, maintenance support, or supply chain management, ideally with mechanical components or valve systems
In-depth understanding of valve types, lifecycle concepts, and spare parts management
Strong experience with ERP and CMMS platforms (SAP MM, Maximo, Oracle, etc.)
Advanced Excel skills for data analysis, forecasting, and reporting
Problem-solving mindset with ability to lead process improvements
Effective communication and cross-team collaboration skills
