The Mid-Level Instrumentation & Control Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing instrumentation and control systems in power generation facilities. This position involves independently managing routine and moderately complex maintenance tasks, ensuring system reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance. The technician collaborates with engineers and junior staff to support ongoing operations, upgrades, and technical troubleshooting.
Shall be competent to carry out overhauling, inspection, troubleshooting, repairs, and testing of Instrumentation & Control equipment related to Gas Turbines, Boilers, Desalinations, NGPRS, etc., and other Instrument & control equipment.
Shall be able to attend breakdown jobs under guidelines from engineer/ supervisor for electrical equipment.
Shall be able to do PM and CM of All types of transmitters, analyzers, Control valves, On/Off valves,
DCS/PLC loops and other Instrumentation & control equipment independently under the instructions of engineers.
Shall understand safety requirements, follow safe working practices, and comply with safety rules and regulations.
Independently diagnose and resolve moderate to complex issues in instrumentation and control systems using advanced diagnostic tools.
Lead fault analysis during system breakdowns and assist in root cause investigations.
Provide technical support to junior technicians and ensure adherence to maintenance best practices.
Support installation, integration, and commissioning of new instrumentation and control systems.
Execute loop-checking, signal verification, and functional testing for newly installed systems.
Implement modifications and retrofits in coordination with engineers.
Monitor performance and reliability of control systems, reporting deviations or inefficiencies proactively.
Generate detailed maintenance reports, calibration records, and system performance logs.
Support the preparation of maintenance plans and contribute to technical documentation.
Enforce and follow strict safety standards during all maintenance activities.
Validate and maintain integrity of critical safety systems including emergency shutdowns and alarms.
Participate in audits, risk assessments, and safety drills as required.
Coordinate with operations, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure system alignment and operational efficiency.
Provide on-the-job guidance and training to junior technicians.
Communicate effectively with engineers and supervisors regarding system performance and required interventions.

Strong understanding of industrial instrumentation (transmitters, control valves, analyzers, etc.)
Proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, loop diagrams, wiring schematics, and technical manuals.
Experience with DCS (e.g., Siemens, Yokogawa, Emerson), SCADA systems, and various PLC platforms.
Skilled in diagnostic and calibration tools (multimeter, loop calibrator, HART communicator).
Solid knowledge of safety regulations (PTW, LOTO, risk assessments).
Diploma or Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
Industry certifications (e.g., Siemens, Honeywell, ABB, ISA) are highly preferred.
3–5 years of hands-on experience in power plants or industrial environments.
Proven track record of independently performing system calibration, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
Experience in supporting system upgrades and loop testing is an advantage.
Multimeters, loop calibrators, HART communicators, signal generators, pressure calibrators.
Familiarity with DCS, SCADA, and PLC software platforms and interfaces.
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work in high-pressure environments and respond to plant emergencies.
