The Junior Instrument Planning and Material Controller supports the instrumentation team by tracking material requirements, assisting in planning schedules, and maintaining inventory records. The role ensures the smooth flow of materials and information between the engineering, procurement, and site construction teams.
Assist in maintaining up-to-date records of instrumentation materials (tubing, fittings, transmitters, cables, junction boxes, etc.).
Support material receiving, inspection, and inventory documentation at warehouse or site.
Update inventory logs and assist in reporting shortages or surplus to senior material controller.
Help update instrumentation activity schedules in coordination with the planning team.
Monitor delivery schedules of long lead items and assist in tracking material availability for site works.
Coordinate with vendors or logistics to get dispatch updates and material status reports.
Prepare and update Material Take-Off (MTO) sheets based on IFC drawings and revisions.
Assist in maintaining records for Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and Material Issue Vouchers (MIV).
Generate basic reports on material consumption, stock levels, and delivery status.
Liaise with the engineering team for updated drawings and hook-up material details.
Coordinate with construction supervisors for daily material issue and return tracking.
Support internal audits and physical verifications of instrument material stocks.
Gain knowledge of instrumentation systems, materials, and installation practices.
Learn how to interpret instrumentation drawings (P&IDs, hook-ups, cable schedules).
Understand ERP systems or material tracking tools like SAP, SmartPlant Materials, or spreadsheets.
Basic knowledge of instrumentation materials and installation components.
Familiarity with spreadsheets (Excel) and data entry tools; exposure to ERP or material tracking systems is a plus.
Good communication, organization, and record-keeping skills.
Willingness to learn and support fast-paced field and office activities.
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation / Electrical / Industrial Engineering or equivalent
0–2 years of experience in planning, material handling, or document control (freshers with training acceptable)
Basic understanding of EPC or industrial project workflows preferred
