The Instrument Fitter (Mid-Level) is responsible for executing the field installation of tubing systems and instrument hook-ups, including pressure, flow, and level instruments. This role involves performing precise tube bending, mounting instruments, and preparing them for commissioning based on project drawings and specifications. The fitter ensures quality workmanship, safety compliance, and timely execution of instrumentation installation scopes.
Install stainless steel/copper tubing, impulse lines, fittings, and brackets for field instruments.
Execute hook-up work for pressure transmitters, flowmeters, thermowells, gauges, valves, and control panels.
Interpret P&IDs, hook-up drawings, isometric layouts, and general arrangement (GA) drawings.
Perform accurate tube bending, swaging, clamping, leak testing, and flushing procedures.
Install instrument stands, supports, junction boxes, and conduits.
Coordinate with electrical, piping, and mechanical teams for routing and interface clearance.
Follow proper torqueing procedures and verify fitting tightness to avoid leaks and signal loss.
Prepare material take-offs and report shortages, tool needs, or inconsistencies to the supervisor.
Adhere to HSE practices and work permit systems, ensuring compliance with site safety standards.
Train and guide junior instrument fitters as needed and maintain daily progress records.
